First I must say thank you so much for all the messages and comments of support and congrats. I feel so blessed and grateful to have had the opportunity to work so hard and prove to myself and others that when you truly set your mind to one focus- you have to succeed..I'm convinced it's the way of the world. Winning Survivor was the only intention I had going back for round 2 and I hope I've opened minds and unblocked negative stereotypes of young women who aren't scared to compete with and stand up to the big boys.

Recently, I've been working day and night to produce a swimsuit calendar and plan a fundraising launch party for the calendar to benefit my fave women's empowerment charity Knockouts For Girls. The calendar is finally finished and the party will take place at Les Deux Nightclub (Las Palmas blvd) in Hollywood on JUN 19!

I would love your support and to see your pretty faces at the party!
The evening will kick off at 10PM on the 19th.

Survivor hottie Parvati knows she can't sing, dance or act -- but the camera loves her

It was one of those magical moments that makes you glad to be doing what you're doing.

Survivor alumni Parvati Shallow, Ozzy Lusth and James Clement were among the invited guests at the recent Canwest "upfront" presentation for the Global and E! TV networks in Toronto.

The trio was seated together, answering questions from reporters, when Parvati spotted hard-working Sun Media photographer Ernest Doroszuk off to the side.

So what did Parvati do?

'I'M FLIRTY'

She stared directly into the camera lens and licked her lips provocatively.

"Wow, did you see that?" entertainment editor Bill Pierce asked. "I sure hope Ernest clicked."

He did.

Some people struggle with the hows and whys of whatever level of fame they have achieved. Parvati Shallow, 25, is not one of them.

"I'm comfortable being out there and going, 'Yeah, I'm flirty,'" the refreshingly self-aware Parvati said afterward. "I really don't try to hide who I am. I'm pretty much an open book.

"So if (the producers of Survivor) wanted to box me up as the flirt, fine. I don't care, because I am flirty, and I have been my whole life. In high school, I had to fight the stigma of people thinking I'm slutty, just because I'm flirty.

"That's where you need a tough skin, because people will run with it and go, 'Oh, she's promiscuous, she's hooking up with all these guys.' In fact, I'm pretty much the only one on Survivor who didn't hook up with anyone, okay? Look at what the guys did. What did I do? Nothing. But I'm the flirt."

Parvati's sexy glance toward the lens reminded us of past stories about pro tennis pinup Anna Kournikova. There could be hundreds of people at a big reception in a big ballroom, and if merely one camera were there, Kournikova knew where it was.

Having gauged that Parvati has a sense of humour, we felt comfortable bringing up a recent episode of the TV show Ugly Betty, when one character said to another, "You're going to be a reality TV star! It's what every pretty girl with no specific talent dreams of!"

"Oh my God, that's so true!" Parvati said with a big laugh. "I remember that line. I was just dying.

'LOVED BEING A HAM'

"You know what's so funny is, I'm not a singer. I mean, I used to sing in high school, and then I started bartending in college and it just destroyed my vocal cords. Too much screaming and endless smoke. So I'm not a singer. I can booty-shake in the clubs, but I'm not a dancer at all. And I'm not really an actress.

"But I've always loved being a ham on camera, and talking to people. That's why I'm sort of gearing toward hosting now. Hosting is a lot like reality television, so it's easy to make that jump over."

Toward that end, Parvati said she recently signed with the William Morris Agency. Reality TV may not have changed Parvati's personality, but finishing sixth on Survivor: Cook Islands and then winning the million-dollar prize on Survivor: Micronesia certainly has changed Parvati's professional path.

"I moved to L.A. four years ago and I was doing entertainment public relations, that's what I got my degree in," Parvati said.

"But I could not sit behind a desk. I can't do 9-to-5.

"I've grown a lot from Survivor. And I've probably toughened up a bit. But I've been really grounded my whole life. My whole family is my foundation. I grew up on a commune (in Vero Beach, Fla.), running around barefoot all day. I mean, it takes a lot to affect me.

"I just will never be that diva, saying, 'Get me my coffee.' "

Parvati Shallow may never be a diva. And she may not be a singer, or a dancer, or an actress. But the camera loves her.

All cameras, that is. Every single one of them. And she knows where they are.

That People magazine picture is the exact same one I scanned and posted in this thread (it has the same wrinkles and everything), and now it's on her myspace. That means she read this thread. =O

I thought it looked familiar. Only thing is that's one that casting queen Erika Shay posted on her myspace and tagged to Parvati. I guess Erika reads Sucks and was collecteing Parv's press clippings for her.

But I bet Parv has checked in here too. I think she has the sense of humour and the entertainment PR perspective not to be upset by Sucks, but she's not a reality fanatic like Jenna and Eliza. She probably gets more fan messages than she can handle on her Myspace.
