It was common knowledge inside the Capitol dome that I'd been applying to Survivor. I had filmed several application tapes on the Floor of the House, playing on the notion that a seat in a state house has all the intrigue, small group rivalry, and dynamics of a season of Survivor. In fact, I can't think of any experience that would prepare you better for Survivor than that. So Frank asks me, want to meet my god daughter (as in real Catholic god-daughter) Ami from Survivor?
And there she was filling the room with a hugh personality. An uber-extrovert barista flanked by hip chicks with tattos and piercings laughing with one another and customers. Think starbucks meets Cheers. She sees Frank. "Uncle Frank!!!!" she exclaims with her large but not loud voice. And so this was how I got introduced to Ami. I also was acquainted with Ami's dad who was on Golden City council at the same time I represented a part of Golden in the Colorado House of Representatives. Her family is really solid people who have been through a lot. The tragic death of her brother became public during S9.
However Ami came across to you on S9 you couldn't ask for a kinder, cooler, funnier friend. She's really easy to like in the real reality.
Go Ami Go!
