Then how about a fun-filled night in Westerly, Rhode Island -- with one of your favorite "American Idol" wannabeens of yore?! Season Six's curly-haired 29-year-old, ~~Sideshow Bob~~ Chris Sligh, will "headline" the alcohol-free First Night Westerly celebration, by singing at least one song at the local Y-M-C-A! Finally, an event safe for Jessica Sierra! As if Sligh weren't enough entertainment for one night, the party will also feature face painting, mimes and a karate demo. Everything in moderation, people. Tickets cost $10 before December 25, but jump up to a whopping $14 after Christmas. It may not be the opening of an outlet mall, housing development or local balloon festival, but it's still a bargain!

They are actually quite fun if you're not into drinking til you puke or looking to score some ass on New Year's with a stranger. Chris has made no secret of his religious beliefs so this type of gig doesn't surprise me for him. I hope he and everyone who attends has a good time.

They brought in all kinds of acts and the schools and various halls were open; the schoold district provided shuttle busses and at midnight there was fireworks. It was a wonderful way for families to celebrate. It's nice to see some communities are still doing this and Chris is to be commended. However, this year I'm getting hammered.
