Denise: The statement did come from me. If I misrepresented myself, I don't feel comfortable taking the money, I would rather have them donate the money to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. We could have used the money and I'd love for my kids to go to college, but other people need it more than I do. I would rather have them give it to them and do some wonderful things with it.

You know what it is about Denise that I truly hate? Because I now work in an EXTREMELY low-income neighborhood. My students all live well below the poverty
line. They are the ones that need the money, the Medicaid, the college scholarships. But you have people like Denise who probably make a comfortable, if not
lavish lifestyle. Denise has a house. A car. A job that pays well above the minimum wage, and probably comes with health care benefits. She has a stable
family, a good husband. So for her to cry poverty is really just sickening. She probably is the type to not tip at a restaurant, not donate to the Salvation
Army, because she's so poor, she and her kids just need the money SO bad. She's the type of person who lives off self-pity.
