It's called reverse psychology, moron. You telling everyone that someone is "strong" just because they won an individual challenge is just as
idiotic as saying that they are "strong" because their team won a team challenge. Susie won an Immunity Challenge this season, but that did not and
does not make her a strong player, because she has shown herself to be inept socially and an overall strategic nonentity. However, Survivor is a numbers game.
Her presence is useful to the games of other, better players (Ken, Crystal, Sugar). We may not like it when goats like Susie make it to the finals, but no
goat has ever won the game, and you can't logically argue that any winner was a "weakling," because the very fact that they won meant they were
the strongest player (and yes, luck plays a factor in determining the "strongest," just like it does in sports all the time when players suffer
injuries).

To be fair, Susie has been just as effective socially as anyone else.
She's been smart enough to see her standing in an existing alliance is weak, and to switch alliances to a group where she is more valued. She might not be a very interesting player, but she is playing as effectively as anyone else. What people are after in this stupid thread is for the people they LIKE to be successful. |

The only thing that "strong" means in Survivor is ability to survive, and one way to do that is win at challenges. That's already what happens, though. A team could have the strongest physical players who would excel at most individual challenges (Ulong, for example). However, it's a lack of teamwork and communication that causes them to lose, meaning they're the "weak" team. The player voted out may get voted out for a variety of reasons. He or she could be the physically weakest member of that team (Ashlee), could be inept socially and irritate everyone (Jolanda), or be lazy around camp (Kim). The player could simply be voted out due to failed strategy (Angie), or an unlucky injury could hurt their standing in the game (Jeff). Either way, the person voted out is always the weakest member of the weak team, simply because the tribe has deemed them so. That's the nature of the game. It's just that the definitions of "strong" and "weak" on Survivor are more complicated than whether or not one loses a challenge. Physical strength, social game, work ethic, strategy, and yes, luck, are all factors, and the ways in which they combine and factor into the game each season are what keeps the show interesting. At the very least, your system doesn't improve upon the current one. If you think it does, I suggest you call Mark Burnett instead of wasting your time here, stroking your own ego. Let's see a season happen under your system and see how it turns out. The show pretty much jumped the shark with Fiji so there's nothing stopping it. |

You assume I think Kitty's argument about the current system is valid. I do not. A weak player would not be on an Immune tribe. Unless they sat out, they would have contributed to the win. If they contributed to the win, they are stronger than the members of the losing team. Even if they did sit out, they likely contributed to work around camp, social interactions, and likely contributed to past wins, all of which could contribute to a team's win at a given challenge (since food and rest, morale, and momentum are all important factors into whether or not a team wins or loses). Your system does not reward leadership or teamwork, which I see as essential components to the pre-merge portion of Survivor.Kitty Pryde1 wrote:Guaranteed, every single time. |

This game is the only way I will ever make money, since like m0t0 maj1 I punch a clock in my day job working at McDonalds. How about "Hello Sucksters, I was cast to be the weak smart player and I managed to outlast all those big strong players because they aren't exactly
mental giants!"
I've figured you out Artiee, you're whole idea centers around the fact you have an inferiority complex about your intellect that you dress up by trying to sound smart and proposing some "strongest players" crap that makes you look like a frustrated wannabe jock. People have made quite logical posts in this thread and yet you don't have any respect for the ideas presented so you kind of bulldoze through obliviously, which is humorous because that exactly mirrors the type of game we'd have if somebody of mediocre intellect such as yourself were to run the show. Cheers for sucking, shitbird! -SJ™ |

See? You are incapable of posting anything respectful and you wonder why so many people post simply to disagree with you? That's all I see here, one or two
people taking you seriously and the rest simply winding you up. Besides, you can't just make one stupid post with a minor flame and declare victory the way
you have in this thread as well. While it must be nice to be so utterly, purely oblivious I can't see that this bodes well for you in real life. Whatever,
it's your trip, just know that this entire forum thinks you're just a joke to have fun with and nothing more.
I say again: nobody takes you seriously. Is there any worse insult? -SJ™ |

artiee could you proviode a mathematical function in which someone could calculate how good of an overall player someone is?
as in, the variables in the function represent different aspects in which takes to survive in your system, and provide what the minimum and maximum value are for each variable as well as tell us how to tell how good the player is depending upon what the function's awnser is? this may sound silly, but i want to know how much you weight different aspects of the game. |

You know that laughing at one's own jokes is the pinnacle of being an asshat, right? I mean, it's right on up there with giving yourself a nickname or
talking about how good you are at flaming people even though no one else considers you good at, well, anything.

I'm really confused. I need a clear, concise explanation of this idea before I endorse it fully. And it needs to have at least three references. You may
use the Bible, but it doesn't count as one of your three references. And absolutely NO WIKIPEDIA!!!
