And with the exception of Grant Show and whoever plays his wife, this has to be the plainest cast on tv.

Emma, thank God you remembered! I had one too and it was driving me nuts trying to think of the name. They need to watch their soundtrack though -- they keep
throwing in songs from the late 70s. They did it again on the second episode.

I think the guy who place Bruce Miller is a cutie! Much more appealing than Grant Show. Actually, both other husbands are more appealing to me than Grant Show.

I'm kind of amazed at how OLD Grant show looks. He's still foxy, but wow.
And he's also got 2008 tanlines....that distracted me in the last episode where he went out to talk to his wife in the pool. |

I've just started watching episode three and I think one of the worst aspects of the show for me is the daughter (Laurie somethingorother) who has a crush
on her teacher. I understand her character, but she just drives me up the wall with her smug attitude and cliched as hell storyline. And she's also kind
of... unfortunate looking.

The fondue pot that was given as a housewarming gift in last night's episode is the exact one I received as a wedding gift (and sold at a garage sale years
later)!

I like the show after three episodes, but I agree with the post about the ugly daughter. The show grinds to a complete halt with her scenes with the teacher.
Can someone tell me how old she is supposed to be? High School? college? Because she looks like she's 27, and should be sisters with her "Mom".

Sometimes, I can't decide if the daughter is ugly, or attractive. I think it's her nose that throws it over to the ugly side. In any case, she's definitely interesting looking, and she shares similarities with the mom, so I can see why they cast her.
Bruce is definitely the hottest hubby on the show. |

The daughter's face looks like a grinning skeleton. Maybe she's just too skinny.

I missed the first episode and have the 2nd and 3rd on my DVR. Is it worth watching the 1st episode online and cathcing up, or should I just delete them all
and forget about it?

I've not seen the pilot, either, but the 2nd & 3rd eps have been pretty good. Ep 1's on CBS here, so I'd watch that first. You won't lose too much if you don't, though.
Yeah, the high schooler with the teacher is an annoying storyline. Weird looking, too, I agree, but she looked great in the opening scene in those shorts. And it's annoying me that any time stuffy Janet the cute swinger wife are in the same room, the writers go out of their ways to manufacture catfight drama. Still, this show's got something to it. BTW, I hope you fellow Deadwood cocksuckers recognize Alma Garrett as the redheaded mommy. |

I think the first eppy was great but it's gone downhill since then.
Agreeance wuth AMT that besides the hot neighbors, plainest cast ever. Hell, I'd do the chick that plays GS wife and I'm pretty straight. |

I'm glad I was talked me into giving Swingtown another chance - I'm starting to like it. Good retro piece to get me in the mood for Mad Men's
return. While I enjoy the writing, direction and cast, I'm distracted by the constant soundtrack. It is like being hit over the head with a nostalgia
hammer in every fucking scene. There are a lot of directions this could go and sub-plots to explore. I agree it would be better on cable, but kudos to CBS
for putting sex and drugs into prime time!
I also find myself questioning the authenticity, although I'm sure they had a team of researchers: Was that phone really available in 1976? The Playboy in episode 3 was September '73: but they fucked up big time with the Penthouse in the premiere as it is a 1978 issue ( September ) ... :
