"Tales of the City" sounds like something I would like too.
Why haven't you mentioned this sooner? ::squinty eyes::

The story is really moving along isn't it? It is turning out to be quite complex and not just about boinking the neighbors. Just when I was getting sick
of the skeletor daughter, her bit turns out to be hilarious. Janet impressed me yet again. :)

Agreeance on the dogpile of love for this series. My problem is that I missed the pilot, and am worried that I'm missing a lot of context.
To the lone dissenter: no, I'm not so sure that if it'd been on a cable net it'd have been better. It was originally pitched for one of those outlets, but none bit. Maybe having one of the the big boys providing support for the production saved it from being a John From Cincinnati flop? A wonderfully complex series, and I suspect that this is so because they had to concentrate on the writing instead of boobies-a-flopping. |

I find Molly Parker's character in Swingtown to parallel her character on Deadwood.
On both shows, she started kind of meek and unsure, now look at her. As both series progressed, so does her character. She's brilliant. |

Ooooh, good comparison. At the start of Deadwood she's a laudanum addicted non-entity, but by the end, she's boinking the sheriff and rivalling Al for
the lead role in sticking it to Hearst.
Swingtown? A domestic-bliss addled frau, toying with boinking Harry Reems, and now gunning to stick it to Nixon. seaguy: yes. But I'm going to fork over the princely sum of $1.99 and watch it on Amazon Unbox. (My question: did they boink the Dekkers? I'm wondering if they've already violated the marital oaths. Don't answer it, though; I'll get back to you.) |

This show rocks... as I am watching it for the historical references as I was not alive then... I find the parallels between Mad Men fascinating. You really
see how change is something women embrace and chase and men wait for.
I am sorry this is not on Showtime which would find a more mature and suitable audience for what is clearly an interesting adult drama that is beyond sex but needs the freedom that cable offers |

Miriam Shor should get a Best Supporting Emmy nomination, but I guiess it will be cancelled before that can happen. Damn CBS. |

Damn, I thought it was doing well in the ratings.
everytime I like a show it gets cancelled. they should have a special channel just for people with brains. |

They have two channels for that actually, Showtime and F/X.

They are running Vikings pre-season football in the Swingtown timeslot tonite in my area. Makes no sense since we are in Packer territory. But I noticed
they will air the show on SUNDAY morning at 1:35 a.m.

Confession: I had the same dress Susan was wearing in the first segment of last night's episode. Floral print with brown accents. Sex-ay!

I really, really, really hope this show makes it. Aside from loving the show in general, I would love to see the know-it-all obnoxious daughter get some sort
of commeupance. I just cannot stand her character at all and this whole "forbidden love" storyline with her teacher just makes me roll my eyes.
I'd love to see what happens when school begins for her and he starts teaching there.

I just hope Bruce dies a slow painful death.

You know, I can't really say that I disagree with that. I'm kind of tired of the entire Miller family in general, I know they are pretty much the
central characters of the show but they seem to just grind the show to a halt when they appear. They have their moments, but not often.

I like Susan a lot. The rest of them are just there to make her miserable I guess.

It's such a tossup as to whether mother or daughter are the ugliest hag on the show. Yeechhh!

Janet's sequence with the shrink was the funniest thing aired so far in this series. Brilliantly done!
Agreeance on the Millers. For a chick that's supposed to be an egghead, the daughter's a dumbass, while Bruce is quickly turning into a caricature. And the hidden lurve between Mommy and Janet's hubby? Spare me. Loved Capt. Dekker's reax to Janet in the kitchen. She's quickly becoming the most interesting character on the show. |
