In most of the other seasons, the hidden immunity idol just fucked everything up. People always knew who had it, and instead of voting for those people and
forcing them to use it, they usually made it to the finals. I'm glad both of them are gone now--I hate them.

Yeah I wish an idol would be played properly, but it doesn't end up that way because everyone ends up knowing who has it so they either blindsight them or
the person goes really far with it. I still think it's a good twist, and I like the way it played out this season. PG/Erik had the chance to use the idol
last week by blindsighting Todd after the vote, telling James to use it or he'd be toast... nevertheless, it brings something to the show... if an
underdog has it they can buy themselves another week/threaten someone theyll vote them out and then get them on their side. And if somene in a majority
alliance has it it will cause cracks in the alliance.
I liked having it at each camp and having inter-tribal relations being formed by giving clues... I just think next time they should put the idols in different locations, so the same person doesn't get both idols. |

Survivor needs something new.
The HII definitely brought some new elements for the game (Yul used it wisely to turn the whole game up, Yau Man and Gary saved their lives once, Jaime made herself a fool, James made himself a target) The only season that the HI was completely wasted was Exile Island Now the idol was nothing more than a liability, because people want to flush it out as soon as they can The idol is no longer a free pass to the end like Cook Island, but something like a "one time insurance" that Gary used You have to get rid of it fast so that people wont see you as a threat |
