IMO, the cliff hanger was good. It had me worried they were gonna fuck up the game with a lousy twist, and they didn't.

The reward was very nice. I can't remember which season, but the reward of swimming in the inland lake with the jelly fish that could not sting you was
also sweet.

The reward challenge timing likely had absolutely nothing to do with wanting to create a cliffhanger and everything to do with needing to accomodate the flight
schedule.
