I think I would have liked seeing Tyson win in your story considering the only thing I really hated about him was the voice. I Correctly predicted Sierra, Joe, Sydney and Stephen would be PM boots. Carolina and JT make place for their placement. And other than Erinn, any of the other F6 winning would be good

I'm not saying for sure that I would have been solid on Tyson, but I like that he would have actually been an entertaining character and a strategic player at the same time and sometimes it's rare to find both. Plus I think he had a good handle on the game based on his preshow video. I would have even considered Spencer as the winner too but having the first teenager just happen to win might have been too unrealistic.

Great finale! I loved the ending, it seemed absolutely perfect, and I loved the way the story fit together at the end. Also, good job completely misdirecting on GC as the winner. I was 100% sure it wasn't him until reading about 4 pages into the finale, at which point it was like, "Crap, I completely missed this." (10/10, btw).

Thank you very much for these positive comments. It seems that most people have been satisfied with the outcome - I've had one person call G.C. my worst winner on FGC and that's about all so far. Thank you for the comment about misleading on G.C. Some people got it, but it's good to know that others were surprised, but especially that it did make sense in the end when everything came together. And thanks so much for the 10 - that will definitely help the average out. I'm glad you liked it so much! :D

Also, I love how completely wrong Randy is in his FTC speech about playing more strategically than GC. GC was correct in his vote at F9, F8 sans idol, F6 (where he made a huge move that won him the game. If Charlie and Dan were to vote Randy here, then Jacquie sides with Paloma to boot Dan at 5 and GC is suddenly in a much more difficult spot, since Jacquie can actually compete in the challenges), and F5 (albeit, not necessarily smart, since he could just immunity run w/o Dan there). Randy was right at F8 sans Idol, F5, and F4. GC hit the correct target more often, and he did what a good player does, take the goat who pissed off the jury members. Randy had Ace and Kenny's vote to start b/c he pissed everyone else off, and GC had Charlie's, Paloma's, and Crystals (debating the Charlie point is pointless. Charlie's confessional where he basically says "GC has been playing a great game" indicates that GC passed in terms of strategy). Basically, Randy's speech was a joke and he was the ultimate goat (I thought Paloma would be the ultimate goat >.>), and GC is honest, upfront and correct.

This is some very good analysis. You're right about the voting. Randy was 0 for 5 in the first Tribal Councils after the merge (if you include the idol), and while he used that argument to say he didn't betray anybody, it also means that he was out of the loop a lot and not voting with the majority. I'm glad you noticed that about Charlie's confessional. I had to have something in there to relate to his question, and Charlie's confessional said that G.C. was "underestimated." It didn't mean that G.C. was non-strategic before that, it just means that people didn't see it because they weren't considering him a threat anyway. That's the amazing thing, and I'm not sure if he would deserve credit for it or not, is that he never ever was considered dangerous or brought up as a serious boot option. On original Kota, Crystal was always the first target not G.C. Of the "Fang" alliance, G.C. would have been the last target there. Once Crystal was gone, Randy was the target. Even at F5, F4, when G.C. was clearly winning challenges, he wasn't brought up as a target and it's because no one considered that he could actually get to the Final Two. That's why Randy was so convinced he had won.

My only objection to the season was that GC had absolutely nothing to indicate him as a potential winner in the first episode (and I don't think in the swap episode either), whereas Dan's opening episode was big (too big, made me think distraction at first until I needed someone other than Charlie to latch onto) and Charlie's was good considering he was completely out of the action, and his swap episode was good considering he was also out of any action. Otherwise, his edit is reasonable enough.

I can't completely agree with this. It makes me think maybe I should try to do an Editing Analysis because there's probably lots of these confessionals that I can offer my thoughts/explanations too. Here's my explanation of his first confessional:

G.C. - CONFESSIONAL: Going to Tribal Council tonight, man, I think it's gonna come down to a vote between Kelly, Sue, <Susie can be seen looking around nervously> and maybe even Crystal because some people in the tribe definitely feel threatened by her… <The camera then cuts ahead to show both Marcus and a frantic Matty talking at camp>

G.C. - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> …but at the same time, like, you never know what might happen. <The camera shows Kelly, Jacquie, Sugar, and Marcus sitting in the hut> You don't know if you're gonna come back, so <long pause> Tribal Council's scary, man; <laughs> it's a scary place to be, and <pause> I'm definitely not lookin' forward to it…

This was his first and only confessional in the premiere and it was the confessional immediately before Tribal Council. This was a conscious decision because it showed he was aware enough of everything going on in the tribe to know the 3 people who would get votes, and more importantly, the second part was pretty significant. He talks about Tribal Council being a scary place and not looking forward to it because you don't know if you're going to come back. Well, he went to more Tribal Councils than anyone in the entire game, and for it being such a scary place, he never got a single vote against him. I could have given the pre-TC confessional to anyone but I purposely picked this for him, and as I say, I try to make sure everything that is in an episode has meaning or relates to the overall story. So that's my explanation of the confessional. You're right that it may not point to him winning, but it was an important one.

As for the swap episode, I just went back and looked at it and yeah, it was just MOR3 and he only had one confessional about how he didn't want to be in the minority anymore and then he got in an alliance with Randy, Ken, and Ace, so there wasn't too much to show of him there. But there were other times when I purposely "added" him more to the story, like the Episode 6 recap if you go back to it, it has a confessional from G.C. about being left out of the majority on Kota to show how being switched to Fang gave him a new lease on life. So things like that were altered from the actual episodes.

G.C. definitely got a strong merge episode though, as did Charlie. I don't recall much about Charlie in the swap episode, but I see he got a MOR2, so that's even less than G.C.

Hello FallenTorch! Thanks a lot for your comments on the finale, and for being very thorough with everything. It's been great to have you reading this season and I hope you'll give next season a try too! :)

The episode was pretty good, with most of the story lines getting tied up (I knew Dan's fire building in Episode 2 would be crucial!) Still, GC was the only character I didn't want to see win. I sort of just saw him as Crystal's ally, and he bored me. I was looking forward to a Dan vs. Randy final...also didn't Jacquie have some big bond with Randy? Wouldn't she have voted for him.

Thank you. Glad you thought the episode was "pretty good," but sorry that you were disappointed in G.C. winning. Yes, he was Crystal's sidekick but that was part of what allowed him to do so well in the game without ever getting targeted. Crystal was always targeted first. Sorry about not having Randy vs. Dan in the end. I would have loved that also, but I think that would have been even more predictable right from Episode 1 with Dan's CPP and Randy's CPN. That was supposed to be a distraction to lead people away from suspecting G.C. And yes, Jacquie did vote for Randy in the end. I hope I didn't screw up on the voting charts...

China or Micronesia (Gabon rounds out the top 3, you've defintely been improving...and I didn't read Exile/Guat)

Thanks. I agree with this. I'm not sure if I'd put Gabon above or below Micronesia right now, but I'd say it should be either 2 or 3. That's not bad after 8 seasons. At least it wasn't #8.

Wow, these are the 8 that I wrote down too, and if I were ever to do another All-Stars, I would narrow it down from this group depending on what types of characters I had from other seasons. Great list!! :)

Finally, thanks a lot for filling out the Popularity Poll and for your Edgic ratings. Excellent job on those, as always. I could definitely see all four of those being the "official" ratings.

The finale was very good, but I was pulling for Randy, though I do believe I pointed out GC as a winner many weeks ago, so I was not surprised.

Thanks. Yes, you were one of the first people if not the very first to put G.C. as #1 Edgic contender and you gave a pretty solid explanation for it that turned out to be extremely accurate. Great job!

To answer your question about returning players for All-Stars (if you did another) I'd go with all the villains Ace/Randy, and even Corinne. I know that she left early due to the bribe, but she was such a fantastic character that I'd really enjoy seeing her again. I do think I have grown more to appreciate the strategic villains in all things Survivor, just because they are always very interesting and complex. They intrigue me the most.

These three "villains" definitely seem to be popular choices. I'm sure I'd need one or two of the heroes to balance things out though. Interesting that more people want these negative characters back than the positive ones.

Again, great job on Gabon. I really enjoyed it, but I'd have to say that Belize is one of my favorite seasons still. Gabon is up there, though. I swear, you sometimes portray characters MUCH better than they were portrayed on the show, and Gabon is no exception to that. You are truly gifted. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much! I'm glad that some people still do like the All-Stars season, and I appreciate your comment about me portraying the characters better. I agree with that, but my episodes are still a little longer than they should be so I have a bit of an advantage due to length. But character development and story-telling is always my #1 priority rather than strategy. Sometimes strategy ends up dominating a certain episode, but there's always a particular story to tell. I just think if she lasted, she would have ended up being like Jacquie/Alexis and not having much of a story for a long time, but I don't think that she was enough of a gamer to play like Jacquie was able to. Sorry that your favorite would most likely end up going early.

I had forgotten that the swap was the episode that Dan was hardly shown in. I think that was where he had no confessionals so that would have been bad for his chances. Practically the whole Kota tribe was ignored in that episode...

And if you aren't doing a Tocantins fanfic, what are your future plan?

At this point I see myself doing a season with 16 of my own characters. It's a cast that I've had created for two years now (I made them during the summer between Fiji and China), and the season will be in a new location and everything will be as if it is totally "new" and not based on any current season. So it's new tribes, new "twists," the challenges will probably be some new and some old just because my challenge creativity is limited, but I'm basically saying it will be my own season. That is what I plan to do right now, but I also planned on doing that before Gabon and changed my mind too. I'll update people when the Reunion goes up in about two weeks.

After that, I think I will do an Amazing Race fanfic just for a change of pace. And I'll reveal more details on that later too.
