Congratulations on your 100th episode. That's an awesome accomplishment. I actually enjoyed this episode. It seemed laid back with no OTTish characters and gimmicks. It was just further letting us view the dynamics and seeing players interact. A nice solid episode.
Thank you! It's certainly a milestone that I didn't think I would ever see when I started writing these stories, and I definitely wouldn't have gotten to it without all of my amazing readers! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the episode though, and I agree with your thoughts on it. I think it was pretty middle-of-the-road and will serve to push the story forward towards bigger and better things.
Charlie pulling Gillian inot the alliance. Charlie is reminding me of Brian in that he has multiple final two pacts (Paloma, Dan, possibly Gillian) and that he is well aware of those around him. His positivity is really the only thing that separates the two. I also liked Randy's plan to destroy the idol. The idol has become a bit overdone in the real show and it seems like a very Randyish move to me.
Thanks for these comments on Charlie and Randy. Once again, I agree with you on both of them!
9. I liked this episode much more than the last two. Kota is finally beginning to develop, and so many stroy arcs mean the tribal shake up will be very interesting.
Thanks a lot for the 9 - I appreciate that! :)
Thank you for your predictions for Episode 5, and for filling out the Popularity Poll!
I predict that Sugar finds herself with Gc or Crystal and will be booted soon due to that relationship. I also see Ace finally taking out Dan at some point with the new tribes.
As I said in another response above, it's interesting to me that some people are definitely seeing Ace taking out Dan/Charlie while some people see Dan/Charlie winning out over Ace/Corinne.
Ace - 9 (Nice solid not OTT villain)
He has potential to go OTTN very soon though.
G.C. - 10 (GC is now defintely one of my favorites. Glad to see a bit from him)
Glad that you're liking his character.
Matty - 6 (I'm glad he tried to stay at the end)
Me too, even though I disliked him, I didn't want to see him quit because I don't think he really would.
I will respond to your Edgic ratings in the same post too...
('ll post Edgic a bit later. Things have been really hectic lately, so I never really had a chance to re-examine my rankings last week, and I expect the same this week due to exams)
Good luck to you on your exams! :)
Charlie - CP4 (I could see a P, but felt he was more toneless. As I said before, Charlie is like Brian Heidik in that they are both in control, and the editors are warning us. Will Dan be like Helen who knew that Brian was smart but trusted him anyways?)
Really interesting thoughts there. I'm leaning towards a P for him though. I don't have my spreadsheet here to check, but I think it's about 50/50 so far.
Crystal - CP4 (At first I thought positve, but then could see negative, but not enough of both for a Mixed. Crystal is an underdog who we are defintely supposed to root for. She's smart, not letting her annoyance with Matty get in her way. At first I was stunned Matty was more visible than her because all I remember is Crystal, Crystal, Crystal)
Agreed on the CP4 neutral here.
G.C. - MORP4 (Not insightful enough for a CPP, but defintely an underdog on Kota)
This is one that I'll have to review. I could see MORP or CPP for him.
Jacquie - UTRP3 (Wow this is a weird chocie, and I doubt its what you intended...more likely just a MOR3, but Jacquie hada sentence almost every other word in the Reward challenge, cheering on her tribe. This could just mean she is a positive person, as Randy is negative, but I'll stick with a P for nowShe was shown, and we heard from her, but not enough. She's being either hidden or ignored, and that means UTR)
Yeah my intended rating was MOR3.
Matty - OTTM5 (Matty was everywhere. He started out rough this episode, but by the end I truly wanted him to stay. Too bad he went home, but at least the 2 Kota outsider Arc is one less storyline to keep track of come the swap. It would have been interesting to see him become a lone unti on a tribe, but I don't think he has the strategic capability to handle a swing vote position)
Yes, removing the outsider on Kota was important because it closes off a whole series of directions that the story could go. This way it's 4-2 on Kota rather than potentially 3-2-1 dynamics.
Thanks for all of those awesome ratings. Great job on them, and I really appreciate the explanations too!
Finally, excellent thoughts on your Contenders / Eliminated lists! Both lists look very good and are very well-reasoned!
2. Randy: As I said before, the Dark Horse. He's not nearly as negative as he could have been, and he's taken on a non conformist approach, doing things his own way. He'd certainly be a unique winner, and his edit supports his chances.
Good assessment. The non-negative is a very strong point for him, I think.
Thanks again for your thorough and detailed comments, FallenTorch. They were all a pleasure to read! Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! Take care! :)
