Winning almost all of the merge immunities is a long shot though I'll admit, only Tom and Terry came close to it, losing 2 of them.

I think I missed some posts yesterday when I was going through these. Sorry about that... So starting with SFC.
Thank you very much for your comments on the episode. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts every week! :) Very Good I knew Gillian wouldnt go so I was assumed it was Ken, After the Challenge loss against Bob (Which weird since they both combatted in Ep 3) I thought he was dead meat. But I understood the Michelle BootThanks. True about Ken vs. Bob, although Dan and Marcus were involved in it too, and this time, Bob beat Ken so that was interesting. Glad that you thought Michelle's boot made sense though. Thank you. A lot of people seemed to really like this scene. I did too, so I'm glad. :) Thanks for rating the episode a 9. I appreciate that! :) Matty (Please?)If you continue to ask every week, you're bound to get it right eventually. Thanks for your predictions, and for filling out the Popularity Poll. G.C. - 7 ( You made him likable, which I find amazing)A few people have said this - I appreciate the comment. I was surprised by what he ended up like on the real show; I expected him to go in a different direction, as I think you can tell from reading this story so far. Gillian - 10 (What I expected her to be in the real show)Me too! She definitely has a very slow start, but then she will all of a sudden have a huge episode and she'll be very important after that. She won't go back to being ignored after that episode like Susie did Excellent job on your Edgic ratings. They're all very close to what I was going for, and it's nice to see so many tones given out too. Finally, thanks for your list of Contenders. Those four definitely seem like good choices - Gillian would have to have more of an unconventional edit, but I see you rated her CPP instead of OTTP, so maybe not. I guess it just depends on which ratings you are looking at, which is why it is nice that people are keeping track of their own. Thanks again for your comments, SFC. I enjoyed reading them, and I want to tell you that I am going to finish reading your comic. I know I've been horribly slow, but I will get to it soon. Hope you have a great day! :) |

Hey, GF. Thanks for the shout-out in the notes--it's something I'm really glad came true! I'm not sure what's going on with FGC right now (something about an application?), so I'll post my comments here this week.Hi Brandon. You're welcome about the mention in the notes. I try to remember when people correctly predict things that I want to point out, or I write them down on one of my million papers and then I forget about them until after, but I definitely remembered you this time. Also, I know you got my PM so I hope you were able to make your way over to the new FGC board. :) Thanks a lot for your comments on Episode 3. As always, I enjoyed reading them and I'm glad to see you enjoyed the episode so much! I absolutely adored this episode. Gillian's one of my favourite characters, so I was glad about how involved she was. I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach as I read through the Exile segment, thinking she would go home, but the person that did definitely deserved it, and provided a lot of conflict that was really fun to read.Thanks. I hoped Gillian would become really popular after this episode, and she has soared to the top in the Popularity Poll, reaching almost 90% as of right now. It's a tie between the Exile scene and the Tribal Council. I think that the Exile scene was really good for character development, and a nice, lighthearted scene considering all the negativity in the episode.Thank you. I really enjoyed this scene as well, and like you said pre-show, her having an African experience on Exile was just something that I couldn't pass up. 9. It's my favourite so far, I think.Thanks. Great to hear this! :) Thank you for your predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Corinne - 6 (I'd like her more if I hadn't read the preview. I thought she might take the changes to heart, at least publicly, but continue to bash people in her confessional...)That's possible, considering we only saw a small snippet of the actual scene in the preview. Dan - 8 (I like him, but I think that until Ace becomes more villainous, he's going to become a little one-note. I'm all for a positive character, but I think that Gillian does it better than he does.)Well, he's going to be a little bit out of the spotlight for a while, so hopefully he won't be too one-note. There definitely still is more to come with her, but I've compared her a lot to Alexis from last season and their edits are probably going to be very similar too, as you can already see. Ken - 5 (I don't like him, and I didn't really like his storyline in this episode. He seems kind of whiny to me.)You're right. I expected him to be Negative in this episode, and I was very surprised that no one gave him this, so I'm trying to determine why. But I agree on him coming across as whiny. Matty - 5 (still not a fan of his, he's kind of like Kenny.)They're definitely both whiny, to me. Paloma - 7 (I was expecting more from her this episode, but she didn't do anything. It's not looking good for her.)You just have to wait a bit longer! It will be worth it. :) Thanks again for your comments, Brandon. I'm glad you were able to post your thoughts here for this week, and I really enjoyed reading them. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! :) |

Hello Werwanderflugen! Thanks a lot for those comments, and I'm glad that you enjoyed this episode a lot!
Shortly, though, I think Michelle should definitely be OTTNN. If Kelly is N, then no way is Michelle not NN. As for Corinne, I need to re-read, but I do remember there being some depth to her character this time, making me think about giving her a CPNN. The re-read will do me some good. This is definitely something for me to consider, although in my own intended ratings, Kelly was just OTT neutral. I gave her OTTN because that's what the overwhelming consensus rating was. I'm at school right now, so I can't check my spreadsheet but I think Michelle has about 40% of votes for OTTNN, which is good because I also agree that this would be a more accurate rating for her. Corinne was pretty negative too though, but I think Corinne was showed to be more justified. Also-- my winner contender's list (Randy, Ace, Charlie, Dan) didn't change from last episode to this one. Maybe next episode there'll be somewhat of a shakeup in how I rank them. (of course, again, a simple re-read may do the trick) Thanks, I've noted your list. And one more thing-- I'm definitely thinking CPP for Gillian. I see her rating this episode as very similar to Sugar's Ep3 edit on the real show-- plenty of discussion to be had between CP and OTT. For me, she's showing far too much depth and insight to be as one-note as OTT suggests. Good point, I'll have to look into this more, although I'm pretty sure that OTTP is the consensus by far right now. But I definitely see what you mean here. Thanks again for your comments! Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! :) |

Hello tacobellcanon. Thank you very much for your comments! Your posts are always a pleasure to read, and I appreciate you taking the time to
share your thoughts every week! :)
- The Sugar exposing her alliance and putting Marcus on the end thing: It honestly seemed kind of wanky. I'm not sure if people would honestly make that big of a deal about how someone lists names. It seems like the real argument should have focused more on that she listed names at all. I think this probably comes down to paranoia, and it was really only Marcus who was (understandably) concerned about the order of names. Jacquie was upset that the alliance was exposed in the first place, but the fact that Sugar said "Jacquie and Bob, and Marcus," gave him the impression that she was close with Jacquie and Bob, and then him, as if she was only saying his name out of obligation or something. So that's why he felt like he was on the outside, but it probably has a lot to do with just being paranoid as well. I hope that reasoning makes sense. - I noticed a person on each tribe was referred to as "driving the boat" or "driving the ship". I pay attention to turn of phrase and I wonder if there is going to be some relation between Bob's game and Dan's game now that both are widely acknowledged as their tribe's leader. Yeah, I realized this too and I can safely say that it doesn't have any hidden meanings, sorry. Good thought though. - I'm not sure how I feel about the mid-challenge confessionals. It really breaks the tension of seeing who the challenge winner will be, not necessarily in a good way. I believe the confessional from Ken is the only one I've had actually during the middle of a challenge, and I don't think I have another one like that for a while. I just thought the one from Ken was important because it did become a big issue, but I usually am trying to keep these confessionals to the beginning and end of challenges. - It's kind of obvious which tribe is going to TC in the first three episodes - whichever tribe gets more pre-IC facetime is the one not going to TC. Generally, I agree, but for this episode, I think that Kota got more focus before the Immunity Challenge than Fang did. But I've definitely tried to keep both tribes as even as possible. Fang's Tribal Council. It was explosive, to say the least. Despite the fact that Fang is now losing, they still seem to be far overshadowing Kota as the more interesting tribe. I agree with you, but personally I still like both tribes. But I agree that Jacquie, Bob, Sugar, and Marcus aren't the most interesting people right now. Thanks for rating the episode an 8.5! :) Thank you for your predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll. Glad to see those 8s and 9s there! Finally, fantastic job on those Edgic ratings once again. I appreciate the explanations that go along with them. Great work on all of this! :) Bob - MOR3 - Moves into the leadership role on Kota, which is a move I almost think he planned out considering he mentioned it and then was very quickly nominated for the position (by Jacquie?) but it wasn't obvious enough to be complex. I do think it was somewhat planned, but I agree with you about him not having enough to be CP. He was pretty close though, and I understand why people have been giving him that, but I'm thinking MOR is better. Crystal - MOR5 - Odd rating, but if I counted correctly, Crystal had six confessionals, as well as a very very visible showing in the IC, and was by far and away the most visible person on her tribe. She's not a positive or negative character, but I feel as though she could swing either way based on whichever way the wind is blowing. She's an extremely volatile player which makes her very interesting to watch. I think she had 5 confessionals but I could have counted wrong. She got a 4 on my visibility chart. G.C. - MOR3 - Not really much talk of strategy, but you can sense Crystal's dependence on him and how much she likes him, which makes him important, based on Crystal's visibility. Great assessment! I did expect him to be MORP this time, but I don't think he'll end up with this rating. Ken - MOR3 - Had little or nothing to do with the strategic discussion. He's very distanced from the strategic center of his tribe. Some SPV negativity from Michelle, but half of the Fang tribe got it. I guess I missed the mark on this one. I expected him to be CPN4, or at the very least MORN4. Paloma - INV1 - Kiss of death? Why can't we see her more? If you wait too long to truly introduce her, we won't care about her. Michelle - OTTNN4 - Flash boil #2. I think she deserves a NN rating far more than Corinne, because, despite the fact that Corinne was more vicious, Michelle targeted many more people. She was negative to as many people as she could be before getting voted out. Visibility is possibly an issue - she had almost none until the IC, and from then on her visibility was a 5+. Agreed on the 4 visibility. Paloma - INV1 - Kiss of death? Why can't we see her more? If you wait too long to truly introduce her, we won't care about her. Thanks for your thoughts on the Contenders / Eliminated people as well! Everything makes sense and is very well thought-out. Paloma - NO ONE should win after 2 INVs in the first three episodes. If she does, (sorry GF), it's bad editing. We'll see. Thanks again for all of your comments, tacobellcanon. I enjoyed reading them, and I appreciate you taking the time to be so thorough and detailed with everything. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! :) |

Hello ncassaro. Thank you very much for your comments on the episode, and for being so thorough with everything. I appreciate you taking the
time to share your thoughts, even though this was not one of your favorite episodes.
I didn't like it as much as the previous two (over all though, I'm still intrigued to see where the story's going to go.) I know you wrote in your notes that you had to cut a lot from the episode, and I think it kind of showed. It seemed like Corinne joining the alliance happened super quickly. Why did Ace pick Corinne? Sorry to hear this, although I expected it from a few people for the reasons that you said. Yes, I definitely had to cut a lot out and some of it had to do with Ace/Corinne. Ace and Corinne had an alliance from before, which was never really shown (although I think it was implied in Episode 1), but I think people were confused because Michelle was initially grouped in with them so it didn't really show why Corinne and Michelle didn't like each other either. I think the only other logical choice other than Corinne would have been Randy, because Gillian and Ken were already seen as too weak and Michelel was already on the outside at that point for a variety of reasons, so Corinne was the perfect choice for Ace. And I really didn't understand why Dan/Charlie decided to throw 2 votes Gillian's way. I think hiding an alliance is easier if everyone is just voting for the same person, which is what would have happened anyway. Now everyone is just going to be even more suspicious about where the 2 votes came from. However, I guess you are the writer and it's more realistic to not have every scheme you write be a brilliant one, because they certainly aren't always brilliant on the show (e.g. Randy's "make everyone hate me and play Bob's idol that I'm not sure he has" strategy. HUH?!) This is interesting because I always think of this when I'm writing, and I always think that the people in my stories tend to make better moves for themselves than they do on the real show. For example, if the real China was my season, Denise would have flipped over with PG and Erik at the Final Six instead of just taking fourth in the Fei Long alliance. But as you said, this isn't always realistic, so I'm trying to make some people more realistically stupid. I think what happens is people sometimes OVER-think things too, and it turns out that, as you pointed out, this wasn't the most logical thing. But at the very least it does make it seem like Charlie and Paloma didn't talk to anyone about the vote, so they never heard about it being Michelle, hence it makes them look like they're not in an alliance. It could work out good or bad for them. Also, it was kinda hard watching Michelle commit game suicide. I know it's the same thing that happened on the real show, but it just made me uncomfortable. Why throw away your game like that? You are definitely right that neither real Michelle nor fanfic Michelle was cut out to play Survivor. I am thrilled that Michelle's self-induced death spiral spared Gillian though. Didn't care for her on the show, but I LOVE the fan fic Gillian. She's our underdog and I'm definitely rooting for her to keep dodging bullets. Also, great job writing for Crystal. You've got her down perfectly. I like her as much here as I did on the show. And I actually like the fic G.C. Thanks for the comments about Gillian, Crystal, and G.C.! :) Definitely Gillian on exile. Best trip to exile yet and I do like how vague the clues are. I hate it when people like Yul, Amanda, and Sugar are given such obvious clues. Thank you. I enjoyed Gillian's Exile scene too. As for the clues, they will start to get more specific pretty soon though, but I agree that it's kindof pointless if someone can find the idol on one trip. Probably a 6. Okay, that's fine. I understand why. Hope you enjoy next week's episode more! :) I dunno. I'm just not sure quite what happened with Michelle. It was entertaining and I think maybe Fang is just a successful clusterfuck like real Casaya was. I'll address this situation at the Reunion, definitely. Thank you for your predictions, and for filling out the Popularity Poll! A good variety of high and low numbers there. Finally, excellent job on all of those Edgic ratings. They're all very close to what my intended ratings were. I'm glad you gave GC MORP and Michelle OTTNN, but I think the only one that's a bit off is a CP3 for Ace. I didn't really think he had enough to earn a CP or a 3 visibility, but I still put it down on the spreadsheet so that I have all the data. Thanks for your Contenders / Eliminated lists too! Great job! :) Thanks again for your comments, ncassaro. I always enjoy reading your posts, and I hope that you will like the rest of the episodes more than this one. Hope you have a great day! :) |

I just got around to reading your episode notes and I have one comment to make. You compare Ace/Paloma to Corinne/Michelle, but there is a difference. With
Ace/Paloma, it was one episode where Paloma called Ace's yoga stuff stupid and then they were both INV in the second half of the first episode and then
they hated each other in the third. It made sense 'cause of that opening annoyance. With this, you go from friends to invisible to hatred.

Hello island sun! Great to hear from you again! Thanks a lot for your comments on the episode. Your posts are always very thoughtful and
insightful, and I really enjoyed reading through what you had to say! :)
- I finally got caught up! The first two episodes were great, and I think this may have been even better. Drama, drama everywhere. I'm glad there was more to Fang this time, instead of just the tribe that wins. Seeing their breakdown was really fun and entertaining, and I liked the battle of the bitches Michelle and Corinne. I think Kota's first victory was a little easy to predict, but the extra events at Fang made up for that. I actually thought that Kota had more story this episode that would provide for another boot, but Fang losing the IC was a nice surprise. But that will carry over into the next episode and the Sugar/Crystal/Matty boot will still be up for discussion. It looks like Corinne will be self-destructing next episode, but I'd really like her to stay in the game longer for the entertainment value. You've captured her character well and I really enjoy her. She may not be the most likeable, but she could easily be my favorite character. Thanks. Glad you were able to get caught up and comment on this episode. I'm glad that this was possibly your favorite one yet, and that you felt it was entertaining. I agree with you that Kota's win was probably fairly predictable, but hopefully that's okay. About Kota: I also thought they had more development before the Immunity Challenge, but some people thought it was obvious Fang would lose Immunity too, so I'm not sure about that. It definitely looks like those are the 3 options on the Kota tirbe right now - we'll have to see if anything changes in the next episode or two. Yes, it would be nice for Corinne to stick around longer, but it might not be realistic. - Corinne's rant at TC Thank you. This was a shorter version of it... - 10. After the IC and through TC was great, and the Kota scenes were exciting too. Being the first episode I've been able to comment on, it definitely makes me even more excited for the next! Thank you very much for the 10. That was a pleasant surprise! :) Very interesting predictions for the next episode. Thanks for posting them, and for filling out the Popularity Poll. - Gillian gets another clue (and hopefully finds the idol!) The only potential flaw in logic with this (although the actual contestants might not be smart enough to realize it) is that if they want someone to take comfort so Fang gets a disadvantage then picking Gillian again wouldn't be smart bc they know she didn't take it. I promise that twist will come into play at some point. -Sugar will be in danger, but ultimately Matty's lack of spirit will get him voted out because Sugar clearly has a good spirit (as noted by Susie in Ep1) Great connection! :) (I think I tend to rate interesting characters higher, even if they aren't as likeable) That's fine. A lot of people seem to do that. Great to see so many high numbers there. EDGIC: (I'm a bit rusty, so forgive me) You're fine. These are all very well done. Excellent job! :) Paloma - INV1 ( Sorry. Finally, awesome job on your list of Contenders. Those are really well explained and thought out well and you bring up lots of great ideas! :) 1. G.C. (This is a really strong feeling I have. I almost put Charlie ahead of him, but I think G.C. has a better story so far. You have not had an African American winner in any of your stories, and if you do take demographics into consideration, G.C. or Crystal are strong contenders, also considering this takes place in Africa. It has been brought up how these two are in Africa, and it would be fitting for one of them to win. I could only think G.C. because Crystal is a HUGE distraction. I really like what you have done with her, but unfortunately I don't think she has a chance.) This is an interesting theory, and you're the first person to suggest anything like it, so it especially caught my eye. It will be interesting to see what happens with this. 2. Charlie (In an episode where Fang is shown as a crazy tribe, Charlie is left out, either meaning he's not important, or you don't want him associated with this bad image. I think it is the latter, and Charlie's first two episodes support his chances of winning as well. He is involved in strategy, but isn't so much of a distraction like so many other strategic characters. If a Fang wins, I think it will be Charlie.) I like your thoughts on Charlie too. That's definitely a valid point to raise about him either being unimportant or being shielded from the negativity. 4. Crystal (It would be strange to see such a huge character as a winner, but I think she has a lot of opportunity for a great story. Sometimes I think if you can come up with a good story, fitting an edgic guideline isn't always as important. True. And yes, Crystal tends to show up in my episodes more than I initially intend for her to. She's such a great character, and that's why I use her in almost every possible scenario. Awesome job GF! I really am happy with what you've done with all the characters. My only complaint is Paloma. For some reason, I've always seen her as a sweetheart-type character and I wish she was edited as such. Sadly, she's just not meant to be I guess. Everyone else is being shown the way I think they should be, so you are doing a great job overall. Keep it up, and I look forward to reading the next episode! Thanks so much. This is really nice to hear. Don't give up on Paloma yet though - all of a sudden her edit is goign to change dramatically and it's going to happen really soon. Glad you're excited for the next episode! Thanks again for all of your comments, island sun! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! :) |

Hello MMan9000. Great to hear from you again. Thank you very much for your comments on the episode. I enjoyed reading your thoughts, and
I'm glad to see that you liked the episode so much.
1) I think Gillian will make it pretty far into the game. I'm wondering if she could be the 4th place boot (your 4th placers are either "big characters" or UTRs, and you've had 3 UTR characters in a row, so perhaps it's time for a change). If Gillian doesn't come in 4th, Paloma or Jacquie will come 4th in the UTR role. Interesting observation about fourth placers, and I've noticed that it tends to hold true for the real show as well. You could definitely be onto something there. 2) Crystal will make it far into the game as well (I predict that she'll jump ship post-merge, especially if G.C. has been voted out). She is at the bottom of the Kota totem-pole, and she could easily gain some ground with the Fang tribe. Another very interesting thought, although this one could certainly change based on a tribe switch that may or may not be happening soon. I thought the drama of the episode was great. I can just picture these events actually playing out in my mind. Thank you. Great to hear this. I worried about some of the conflict seeming a little contrived (which I always, always avoid), so I'm glad that this was not the case. Thank you very much for rating the episode a 10! I appreciate that! :) Thanks for your predictions for Episode 4 and for filling out the Popularity Poll. Great to see some 10s up there. Finally, thank you for those awesome Edgic ratings. They are all very close to what I was going for, so I'm definitely impressed! Gillian - MORP5 (maybe it's just me but I saw some development behind her) I agree with you that she had some development, but in spite of this, I'm thinking that OTTP is the best rating for her. It doesn't mean that she can't have had development, just that the development contributed to her simplified / one-note edit. Michelle - OTTN5 (unlike Corinne, we really didn't get any real insight from her about the feud) Agreed! Great Edgic lists too. Glad that you are being a bit conservative on eliminating people. For the real show, I eliminated Bob after Episode 2 (oops!), so you definitely don't want to have that happen to you. Thanks again for your comments, MMan9000. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Hope you continue to enjoy the story, and have a great day! :) |

I just loved the episode! Awesome, definitely the best this season. Thank you very much. Very nice to hear that this was your favorite so far. Cruella de Vill. I'm not sure if you mean the comment where Charlie called Corinne Cruella de Vill, or Corinne herself, but I'm glad that either one of these stuck out to you. 10! (can i give it an 11?) Thanks. You can if you want to, but I will only out down 10 on my spreadsheet though. I'm pleasantly surprised that you liked it this much though - even I didn't think it was a 10, though there will definitely be some great episodes to come later on. Thanks for your predictions for Episode 4, and for filing out the Popularity Poll! Yay for the 8s-10s. :) OK I only read the episode once, but from memory: That's fine. Hi khnum! Great to know that you are still reading for this season. Thanks for those comments.
Corinne is a goddess who must stick around until the end game. <3 I'd love to see her get stuck in an alliance where she hates everyone but she has no other choice but to stay with it. <333 I will do my best to keep her around as long as I can. I would definitely prefer to keep her around over some of the more boring people, so theoretically, she could be safe for a while yet. Also, Kota is boring, so I think the winner comes from Fang. Charlie or Randy have the best edit, I hope Charlie doesn't end up being the Merge boot/Winner distraction. How about "less entertaining" or "less interesting" instead of boring? But I agree that some of those people are more generic and don't have the greatest personalities. Good call on Randy and Charlie - we'll have to see if one of those is the winner. Hope you enjoy the rest of the season, khnum! Thanks again for stopping by and posting. :) |

Hello Brazil Luvs Ami! Thanks for commenting on the episode. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and I'm glad that I
was able to show more of Corinne for you. I did it just to make up for her being INV1 in Episode 2!
I found the episode a little too obvious... I knew Kota would win the reward, then I knew they would win the immunity, and then I knew that Michelle would be going home That's definitely understandable, for the most part, although I really did think Kota got more focus before the Immunity Challenge, so I hoped that Fang losing Immunity wouldn't be quite so obvious, but I guess that part failed. I hope the next episodes will be more surprising then. Corinne at Tribal council. Please don't make her go soon!!! I'll do my best to keep her around as long as I can. I think I owe you after having Ami go in Episode 6 last season. Thanks for rating the episode an 8. :) Thank you for your Episode 4 predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll! If corinne or Paloma goes to exile they will choose comfort (that's a prediction made by re-reading episode 2) Something about the reactions that were shown, right? You could definitely be on to something there. Corinne - 100!!! Sorry to say that I can only put that in as a 10... Finally, thank you very much for those fantastic Edgic ratings! Great job on all of them - they're all very close to what I was going for. Corinne - OTTN5, but the edition was with her most of the time (I believe...) I think you mean the story seemed to side with her and she was justified in most of the things that she said about Michelle. If so, then you are definitely right, but I still think you are correct in giving Corinne an OTTN. I would then give Michelle an OTTNN by comparison though. Thanks for your Contenders / Eliminated lists. Certainly hard to argue with your reasoning for that. Thanks again for your comments, Brazil Luvs Ami. Glad to have you reading this season again. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! :) |

Hi tropical rain. Thank you very much for your comments on the episode, and for being very thorough with everything. I enjoyed reading your
thoughts, and I appreciate you taking the time to share them every week.
I'm glad I really read the preview, and I do believe a Ken/Randy alliance would be good. It seems like it might be Ace/Corinne/Ken/Randy v. Charlie/Dan/Gillian/Paloma might emerge... We'll see! Interesting idea - it's definitely a possibility of something that could happen. I really liked the exchange between Crystal and G. C. during the first Kota scene. I think that they work well together in your fanfic. I think that they're really smart in who they target and might make the votes go between Matty and Sugar in the next tribal council. I'm glad that Bob is stepping up to take a leadership role, and I think he's best for the job on that tribe. Sugar's kindof getting on my nerves, and I'm really hoping that she'll go soon. The only person I want to go more on that tribe is Matty, but I don't see it happening. Thanks. Glad that you liked the scene between Crystal and G.C. Yes, Bob is definitely best for the leader role on Kota, as he's most likely to be respected by people outside of the alliance. Good thoughts about Sugar and Matty - we'll see what happens there, but I'm not surprised to hear that Sugar is getting on your nerves at all. On the Fang tribe, I thought the different conversations were interesting. I like the continued alliance stuff, and I love love love Gillian. I really hope she goes far, and she is a great character. I'm just waiting for more from Paloma, because she's one of my favorites from the season. I enjoyed hearing Corrine narrate it, and I think you're really playing up her character. I thought the pre-tribal council was interesting, but I have to admit I didn't like the tribal council. When Corinne started saying how Michelle was white trash I thought it might of been played up too much. I honestly don't like Michelle's character, but I think you might have gone a little too far. I thought it was funny Michelle got booted on the third episode of my fanfic as well. Most of all, I'm just glad Gillian stayed. I really enjoyed the episode though. :) Nice to hear that you love (x3) Gillian. I know that you're waiting for more from Paloma, and I promise that it is coming very soon. There are a few reasons why her edit has been this way and I will explain after the season is over (if people don't already guess correctly before then). Sorry to hear that about the Tribal Council - I guarantee that I could have made it a lot worse for both of them if I wanted to. Gillian on exile, I loved it. :) Thank you. This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the episode, if not the major highlight for me. :) 8. Sorry, I liked the first two episodes better. It wasn't bad, but I didn't like the Corinne interplay at tribal council. You do not have to apologize. An 8 is perfectly fine for me, and I didn't think this was the best episode by any means (I expected to get some mixed reviews of it), so no need to feel sorry for liking the first two better. In fact, I probably would agree with you! Thanks for your predictions for Episode 4 and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Jacquie. I'm thinking that a tribe shuffle will come and her torch will be snuffed. Well, that would be very strange and sad if the exact same thing happend to her in Episode 4 again. I don't know if my tribe swap will come up that soon. Ace - 3 (I really don't like him in your fanfic...) That could be a good thing. Crystal - 8 (Gotta love Crystal, though she can be irritating sometimes.) I think she's getting a bit better though. Less in-your-face? Dan - 10 (I love a CPP young white male edit, because it doesn't happen too much. It's really easy to give it to someone who has to overcome something, but you don't think of that type of person needing to overcome something. I hope this makes sense.) It sortof makes sense, but I'm not 100% sure. Are you saying that Dan doesn't really seem like the kind of person who would need to overcome something? Because I agree that he doesn't *seem* like it, but he definitely has his insecurities and anxieties, which will continue to come into play in the story and that could be seen as something he has to overcome. Jacquie - 7 (I really like her positive personality, and I wish that she could be Crystal-visible. I guess it was just never meant to be.) If there's an episode where she plays a big part in what's going on, then this could definitely happen. Right now, she's just kindof a background character because she hasn't been essential to what's going on. Crystal has pretty much been driving the stories at Kota. Marcus - 6 (I like him, but he's being kindof dull lately.) Lately? Or always? Matty - 4 (Please boot soon. I liked him in the real show, but he's starting to irritate me.) There seem to be a lot of requests for this. Paloma - 6 (Please show more... please?) Good things come to those who wait! :) Sugar - 6 (I wish you made her more different than the real show, aka more negative as opposed to positive.) Well, remember, this "interpretation" or this "version" of her character was created before I had seen any episodes of the show. The one thing that was constantly emphasized was the fact that she crid a lot, which is why this has come up most often because it's one of the few things I had to go on. I do think she took a negative turn in this episode though, and it could very well continue. Thanks a lot for those excellent Edgic ratings! I'm really glad that you chose Bob's to explain because this is probably the one that I'm most torn on. I understand the CPP, but I just think that he was still MORP for some reason. So I will have to look into this, for sure. Bob - CPP3: He really explained why he was stepping up to be a leader, and we really got into his thought process about the Sugar situation. I think people might write him off for being over the top, but I really don't think he is if you look into his edit. I haven't read other people's responces yet, so I don't know what they're said. You're definitely not the only person to rate him this. It's probably about 50/50, if not more on the side of CP. Corinne - OTTNN5: I thought that Corinne got exceptionally nasty when she made a lot of the comments about Michelle being white trash, so I gave her a "NN". True. I could have seen either or both of C/M getting NN, but the only thing is that I think the editing supported most of what Corinne was saying, so Michelle came off worse by comparison, but I'm still undecided. I could see them both ending up with NN when I do final ratings, but probably only Michelle at this point. Finally, thanks for all of those great thoughts on the Contenders / Eliminated people. Everything definitely makes sense. 2. Randy: Though he hasn't had the most visibility, that's probably a good thing. He can be easily created to be a OTTN character (see Corinne), yet he's not. He does have complexity as well. Great point on Randy. He could easily be OTTN or the Crystal of Fang - the person who gets a ton of facetime no matter what. There's still time for him to go in one of those directions, but the fact that he hasn't done it yet could be important. I always enjoy the episodes, and you're a great writer. I hope you get to feeling better and have a great day! :) Thanks! My day today consists of being couped up at school for about 10 hours with 4 hours of breaks from class, trying not to infect other people or disturb anyone else as I constantly cough throughout the 9th floor of the library. How fun. But it is okay. Thanks again for your comments. They are always a pleasure to read. Hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great day! Take care! :) |

Hi SurvivorFan1989! Thanks a lot for your comments on the episode. Glad to still have you reading, and I appreciate you taking the time to
share your thoughts!
I thought this episode was very good. I loved the fighting between Michelle and Corinne, and even though you mentioned there being no explanation, I had no problem with it or anything. I could see them saying those things, it was great! Thank you. I'm glad you liked the conflict between Michelle and Corinne. It's not that there was no explanation, it's just that most of the explanation ended up getting cut out of the episodes as I had to shorten down Eps 2 and 3 (especially), so we were left with not much leading up to it. 9, I really liked it actually Thanks. I appreciate the 9, and I'm glad you liked it! :) To Corinne and Michelle, what made you two hate each other so much? Perfect. This will help me to clear it up at the Reunion, so I will definitely ask this. Thank you for your predictions for Episode 4, and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Hoping to see some 9s and 10s on there soon! :) Finally, excellent job on your Edgic ratings. They are all very close to what I was going for this episode. Thanks a lot for posting them. Great Contenders / Eliminated lists too. Interesting to have most of the same names appearing on almost everyone's lists, especially for the Contenders, although Bob is a bit of a unique choice, so it's good that there's no obvious front-runner right now either. Thanks again for your comments, SurvivorFan1989. I enjoyed reading through them. Hope you have a great night, and continue to enjoy the rest of the story. Take care! :) |

Just wanted to respond to a few things, because I was reading through the comments, and wanted to share my thoughts here (I posted my comments at FGC). I am slowly making my way over there. I have read all the comments, but I haven't had a chance to reply on there yet. I think the line is so cheesy, but it suits Marcus PERFECTLY. Every single confessional on the show seemed like it was clearly thought out so it would make a good quote for television. Marcus is a very contrived person and I think the line was perfect for him because that is something he would absolutely say because that is a character trait (or flaw I suppose) of his. I'm glad that you think it suited him. It's something that I never really thought about until it was mentioned in this thread. I will have to strongly disagree with the MORN. Her honesty and naivete (which can be comparable to Dan in a way) are what makes her endearing and likable (at least in my opinion). It's like she's Cindy Brady or something (think the parody Brady Bunch movie), where she slips up and says something she's not supposed to and then is scolded for it. Perhaps what you said you took out would have made her a bit more sympathetic, but as you said you didn't like how M/J/B were painted by the scene that you cut out. But I absolutely think that MORM would be a much better rating for her. I'm also surprised that some eliminated her for being "too positive" when some rated her MORN or MORM this episode. My intended rating of her was MORM, and I only said MORN because that's what so many people have given her. I didn't realize it would be the consensus rating, but it looks to be so far. I might decide to go with MORM (my own rating), but I can understand why people were annoyed with her. I just have to decide if the intent was really Negative, and I'm not sure that it was, so you bring up a great point there. Hoping to get to your comments on FGC soon. I have another 2 hour lecture coming up, and I'm going to be replying to comments straight through until then. |

Hello YemaGrl1988! I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like the episode that much and that you're hacing a hard time with this season, because I know that you were really excited for it before it started, so I'm sorry for that disappointment. But I appreciate you taking the time to comment even though this wasn't your favorite episode, and I will always take all thoughts and opinions into consideration so you don't have to feel bad about saying you didn't like it. I'm going to be honest, I didn't like it that much. I'm having a hard time falling into this season. It's just one disappointment after another. I'm not trying to be bitchy but some of my favorite characters in the real show are completely different in this fanfic and most aren't for the better. That's why I am having a trouble time liking this season. The only characters I like more in this fanfic than the show are/were Susie & Gillian. I don't like Crystal's character too much after this episode. I like Crystal but I actually liked her edit in Gabon better than this. I really hated seeing Michelle go, I really liked her. What bothers me was that there wasn't much development with Michelle. Sure, there was that little bit in Episode One about getting lost but she was completely ignored in episode two and for a three episode character, that sucks. I mean with Susie, she got a great developed edit for two episodes so I wasn't upset when she was voted out but Michelle leaving on little development kind of sucks. Especially since she didn't last long in the show. I can understand why you would have trouble with the first few episodes since you lost two of the people that you liked already, but I'm hoping that
things will get better for you. And sorry to hear that about the characters too - I'm trying to think of everybody and I'm having a hard time figuring
out which characters might be different and worse. You said Crystal, so I'm hoping that it's just something that was off for an episode or two because
a few other people have said they liked her character. She could get better. Sorry about Michelle, but I'm hoping there are some other people like G.C.,
Dan, or Randy that you might like better in this version than in the real show.
5 (Based on Episode 1 rating, this was half as good) Okay, That's fine. And I agree that Episode 1 was better than this one.
How was Michelle anti-social? This was my impression of her from before the game, just by listening to her interviews and reading things about her. I could tell that she had a chip on
her shoulder and she seemed to think that she was better than everyone else, and when you consider all of the life experiences that she went through, I thought
it was going to make her someone that would have trouble relating to her tribe and who would be more independent than team-oriented. I think this really came
across in the real show (but as I said, I hadn't seen this yet) when she said that she didn't talk to anyone else except Ken. She automatically
isolated herself from 7/8 of her tribe by being distant from them, and I just did not think that she had what it takes to play the social part of the game and
be successful at it. That was my interpretation of her and that's all I can go with when writing. I hope that makes a little bit of sense.
Crystal - 10 (As much as I don't like her edit, she is still my favorite) Well this 10 will definitely help her out because she has been dropping quite a bit lately. I think she's still over 70 though, but I expected her to be
the hands-down favorite. Guess I was wrong about that.
Gillian - 10 (Fantasic Edit, I read for Gillian) I'm glad that you have someone else to root for! :)
Ken - 1 (I really loathe his confessionals) That might not be a bad thing. I intended for him to be Negative this episode, but I guess I was the only one who got that impression.
Susie - 10 (Susie was awesome, I can thank you for that) Well, I'm glad that you at least liked Susie's character / edit. I wish she was like that in the real show - that's what I expected from her.
I don't want to sound too harsh and I apologize if I do, I just didn't like Michelle's edit which really not like this episode.
Thanks again for your comments, and for continuing to read my stories for so many seasons. I know you've had a few disappointments but you continue to read. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the story more, and have a great night! :) |

COMMENTS & QUESTIONS
(A) What did you think of this episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible. I liked it a lot, as usual. I know that's my answer every week, but I always mean it. I truly did think that Gillian would go home once Kota won an immunity. And then you delved into the Michelle vs. Corinne showdown and I still viewed it as a red herring to a Gillian boot. So you definitely left me guessing. I'm definitely liking the Fang tribe more, by the way. I find their tribe dynamic much more interesting. Last week I asked you about how both Michelle and (I think) Corinne fit into this dynamic. And I think you did a great job in answering that. Sugar telling Jeff the people she's closest with reminded me so much of Australia and Jerri. I love trying to parallel your stories with the CBS show. (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Corinne at Tribal council, no question. Also loved her "the people who aren't good enough to be on Fang are on Kota" line. The elitism is perfect. (C) What would you rate this episode out of 10? (1 being the lowest; 10 being the highest) 8 1. SOLE SURVIVOR POLL (A) Which castaway will be the Sole Survivor? Dan 2. WHAT'S NEXT POLL (A) Which castaway will be voted off in Episode 4? Gillian (B) Which castaway will be sent to Exile? Gillian (C) Do you have any other predictions for Episode 4? I think someone will find an idol. Don't know who though 3. POPULARITY POLL (A) Please rate each castaway's popularity from 1-10. 1 is the lowest score, while 10 is the highest. guatemala fanfic wrote:I'll explain this further then, since you asked. My favorite edgic rating is CPP for many reasons. I love complex people better than the hero or villian that normally people root for. I love to hear everything from alliance building, why episode two is almost always my favorite, to one's thought process. I really don't like negative or neutral ratings as much, even though they are fun to watch. I like people to root for because they're in a positive light. That being said, it's extremely rare for a young straight white male to get this type of edit on the show, and never yet have they won. The only person I can completely see falling into this catagory from all seventeen seasons is Ian, which is someone I was rooting for in Palau. It's someone that I want to identify myself with and someone I can see playing the game since I fit these four catagories. It's all to easy to give it to someone who can naturally be seen as a underdog in society (one's race, etc), but it leaves me with not many favorites. It's probably one of the reasons that Palau is my favorite season. My day today consists of being couped up at school for about 10 hours with 4 hours of breaks from class, trying not to infect other people or disturb anyone else as I constantly cough throughout the 9th floor of the library. How fun. But it is okay.I got sick on New Years, as did my girlfriend (so then rumors got started that made me more grumpy). I'm feeling much better twelve days into the sickness, and I even though I've gotten both of my parents sick on the break. I hope you'll get to feeling better! Please feel free to ask me for further explaination if necessary. |

Sorry, GF! I only have time for edgic this week. But I loved the episode, I really wish I had time to comment. Michelle versus Corinne was epic.
Bob - CPP3 (possible MORP3)
I try to give out NN or PP sparingly, but I think both Corinne and Michelle came of equally terrible. Top Picks: 1. Ace (I stand by a MOR last episode, which helps his chances. He may be negative, but a CPN or MORN character isn't a bad mold for a winner.) 2. Charlie (Subtle and thoughtful. No serious flaws in his edit.) 3. Randy (His early negativity has disappeared, and has become quiet and thoughtful like Charlie.) 4. Bob (I know, had a weak first episode, but seems to be emerging with a possible winner's mold. Plus, I couldn't really think of a third choice.) I think Dan is too large of a distraction, but he would be my #5. GC and Matty also aren't too bad, just lacking in complexity, same with Marcus. I don't think a girl is winning, though. Haha.

COMMENTS & QUESTIONS
(A) What did you think of this episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible. Another great episode! Your third episodes are usually one of the better ones of the season (Erik's idol blindside, Lisi getting voted out of All-Stars, Sylvia quitting, Margaret campaigning against Bobby Jon) and this had some great moments in it. Nice to see the good and evil themes really coming into play on Fang, with both heroes and villains banding together to vote out the "bad apple." It was nice to finally see Kota winning two challenges, one by a slim margin at first and the other was sheer CRYSTAL OWNAGE! Speaking of that, I always love the physical challenges, one of the big times to read the gray text. Good to see Michelle emerge as more of a character after becoming "the girl who couldn't read a map" in Episode 1. And you definitely brought some schadenfreude with her comeuppance in the Immunity Challenge. While Kota wasn't really shown as much and it was kind of known that they would win through editing, the fireworks at Fang made up for it. And your Tribal Council was probably one of the best you've ever written with the drama and arguing and everyone getting an opinion on the matter.
(B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? Definitely Tribal Council. Corrine really did fulfill her promise and go all out with her insults to Michelle, though they bordered on real-life Corrine with her comments about her divorce. And it definitely set some things up when Gillian and Ken agreed that Corrine complained. I wonder how Gillian will react to those two throwaway votes.
(C) What would you rate this episode out of 10? (1 being the lowest; 10 being the highest) I'd give it an 8. Great because of Tribal Council, but I had to take some off for the lack of Kota. Great episode though!
(D) Do you have any questions about this episode that you'd like to see cleared up in a future episode or at the Reunion Show? Charlie and Paloma: Did it ever strike you to perhaps vote for Corrine and try to pin it on Ken and Randy to send Corrine and Ace after those two? It would've been very interesting to see if they could've pulled off what Terry and Aras couldn't. Personal question for you: What are some of your favorite Tribal Councils that you've written? They could be anything from huge arguments to playing the idol. I just wanted to see which ones you look back on and find to be great.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. SOLE SURVIVOR POLL
(A) Which castaway will be the Sole Survivor? I'm still feeling Charlie. He's got the game on lock right now, though I feel like a swap might put him in an unlucky situation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. WHAT'S NEXT POLL
(A) Which castaway will be voted off in Episode 4? For Kota (which I think will go to TC), Matty. For Fang, probably Gillian or even Ken.
(B) Which castaway will be sent to Exile? Kota wins Reward and sends Gillian again.
(C) Do you have any other predictions for Episode 4? As I said before, Kota wins Reward, Fang wins Immunity. This probably won't happen in Episode 4, but GC and Crystal find the Idol at Kota's camp and that causes some drama late pre-merge.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. POPULARITY POLL
(A) Please rate each castaway's popularity from 1-10. 1 is the lowest score, while 10 is the highest. Please try to base your ratings only on the likability of the characters in my story, not how they appeared on the real show.
Ace - 7 Bob - 4 Charlie - 6 Corinne - 8 Crystal - 8 Dan - 6 G.C. - 5 Gillian - 6 Jacquie- 3 Kelly - 4 Ken - 5 Marcus - 4 Matty - 3 Michelle - 7 Paloma - 2 Randy- 8
