Thank you both BlakeB717 and guatemala fanfic. I'm sure you (gf) are used to doing this, but I'm certainly not. Randy is the only one I'm sure about, so I won't be doing an argument for Jacquie being UTR/INV or Sugar being nuetral/positive. It was fun though! :)

Is there any way I can change my rating of Susie? I would like to change her from OTTM4 to MORM4 if that is possible. I originally was going to rate her CPP4, but after reading some of the prior edgic ratings, I changed her to OTTM4. Later, I realized that she definitely showed some strategy (especially by aligning with Crystal), so she is now MOR in my book. The tone didn't change though.

One thing I'm still confused about, how do you know when someone is OTT or CP? I always thought CP was given to the strategists of the show, thus that's why I gave Dan an OTT, he didn't really show any strategy. I don't think I'm changing my opinion of Dan though, even if I am in the distinct minority.

Oh, and I hope you don't mind me doing a contenders list.

Oh, thanks for mentioning this line - I meant to put it in the episode notes. This was a reference to Survivor: Africa where Kim J. and Boran (stupidly) dumped out their water because they thought it would be too heavy to carry. So Jeff was saying not to do that because they might not have any other water.

Something else I saw was at the very beginning, when you were introducing each contestant by their occupation: Charlie, Dan, Randy, Marcus, and Matty were the only ones to be identified also with location (New York, Boston, Missouri, Florida, and Los Angeles, respectively). Either this was totally random, or it's a subtle hint at something down the road-- the first all-male final five? Could be interesting, though it completely leaves out big characters like Susie/Crystal and the potential Corinne/Michelle relationship. Who knows? I also thought it was odd that you pointed out Charlie as "gay" and Marcus as "young"-- the only two with descriptions beyond their current occupation. Why not simply "a lawyer from New York" or "a doctor from Florida"? Probably, again, just random.

Interestingly, 5 people from the China intro also have location with their introductions: Chicken, Erik, James, PG, and Courtney. This doesn't seem to correlate with the Gabon Fanfic intro (nothing pops out immediately, though I could be missing something). Also, we already went over why Charlie has "gay" in front of his name, and I'm guessing that the Marcus "young" is a reference to Frosti being described as "the youngest survivor ever."

I thought it was a good first episode. Not one of your strongest, but I think it takes me awhile to separate the real show from the entirely new situation you've created here. I thought there was some good character development for a select few, but a lot of people seem left out in the cold to make room for Crystal, Dan, Randy, Susie, etc. So when these people were around, the episode felt more alive, but other times, it seemed like a lot of narration (which I understand is completely expected in a first episode). I appreciated it much more my second time through-- I enjoyed Kelly's character (what a great first boot!), and the small dynamics that seem like they'll come up later. I wish there'd have been more, though... but there probably was a lot that will come up later that I just didn't notice.

Fang seems, at the moment, to be the "complex tribe," if there is such a thing. I thought it was interesting how Charlie explains they need to have a "group effort," and Dan says "We've definitely got a great tribe, so I think one of us is gonna take it." Yet Randy claims his superiority over the tribe, and Ace says he's "throroughly embarrassed to be a member of the Fang tribe." (I was unsure if this was about the group itself, or the pronunciation of "Fahng." If the former, it's already interesting to note the two opinions/beliefs about the tribe's strengths and unity).
