I read a little bit of your preview, until I got down to the part after the theme song and realized it was part of the episode but not the whole thing.

I know that a lot of TV shows on some channels lately have been putting part of the episode online before the episode actually airs, but personally I think doing that is stupid. I'd much rather you just post a few hints like usual for a preview, like "one survivor single handedly costs their tribe immunity, will it cost them the game". I mean I really don't like the whole idea of seeing just 1/4 of an episode, and then having to wait to see the other 3/4's of it a few days later.

Sorry about that, MasterDarkNinja! I didn't think it was that bad of an idea since it didn't give much away (as someone said, the tribes aren't even at their camps yet), but if it will make you enjoy the premiere more, then I am glad you stopped reading it. There's less than 3 days now, since I'll be putting the episode up very early on Monday morning, if not Sunday night.

About Charlie and Jacquie: sometimes people who end up being big players simply are not important to what goes on in a particular episode. Like James in my China premiere got an INV1, although he was a pretty big character throughout the season. So just because they haven't been shown yet, doesn't mean they won't be. Also, no offense to Jacquie, but she doesn't have the greatest personality in the cast, so that's going to limit her airtime a little bit more than someone like Crystal, who you pointed out was already a big character/player.

Yes, this was only going to be a one-episode thing. The rest of the episodes have a typical "Next Time on Survivor" at the end of them to act as previews for the next one. It was done partly because it's been a long time since my last fanfic and also because CBS released the first 3 minutes of Gabon in advance (I believe YemaGrl1988 was the first to suggest that I do this way back in September). But yes, I won't be doing it for future episodes or anything like that.

Loved the preview guatemala fanfic! I only hope we see more of Jacquie and Charlie as others have pointed out as they sounded like huge players in the preview (and Jacquie's my winner pick!). Hopefully Crystal's airtime is a good sign for her, as I hope she goes far. As Hijojo pointed out its interesting that Paloma's name was pointed out just like Tracy last season. I cant see the trick being used twice in a row, but feel like Paloma is defintely going to be a player. I can't wait for the rest of the episode!

RE Charlie and Jacquie: Just because they haven't been shown yet, it doesn't mean they won't be in the rest of the episode or in the next episode, etc. They can still be important characters in the long run, but they just may not be essential to the story at the moment.

RE Paloma: Honestly, the reason I picked Paloma's name to show was because it was the most uncommon name on Fang, so that's why Corinne was asking her to repeat it (she said "What's your name again?" as if she had already forgotten it or didn't care to remember). I figured a name like Dan or Michelle or whatever would be pretty easy to remember, but maybe not Paloma. So it's not quite like Tracy - you're right, I wouldn't repeat the same thing twice in a row, not consciously anyway.

I just noticed, even though you reshuffled the tribe as how they were on the real show. Only 3 people ended up on a Tribe they were never on (G.C. , Paloma, and Matty)

Yeah, maybe with switches in my story, everybody will get to be on every tribe. It's unlikely, but it might be possible if people like Michelle and Gillian make the switch.

I decided that I'll most likely put the episode up tomorrow night around 8:00 so that you guys can read it at night rather than waiting until early in the morning (it would have went up around 6:30). That way it gives me more time to reply to comments as well instead of having to wait for them in the morning.

I can't believe the day is almost here. I have been waiting for what feels like ages for the Gabon fanfic.

I can't believe it either. For so long, it seemed like it was so far away and now it caught up with me quickly...

I think you answered this question before, but I want to know, when exactly do you determine who will win Gabon? I mean, do you have the boot order already drafted by the time the season starts, or do you wait until mid-season to finalize those things?

The boot order is always determined entirely in advance (except for Guatemala when I didn't plan in as much detail: for that season, I knew the Final Two but wasn't 100% sure on the winner until about the merge), because I have to ensure that the way the story develops from the start makes sense with how it ends and if I don't know where it's going to end up at the end, I can't ensure that it will develop logically.

For Gabon, I had a few different possible winners as soon as the cast was released and I decided on the winner 100% 2-3 days later, so that means I've known the winner since the end of August. And then I plan accordingly.
