I know I am merely lending my 2 cents in the countless remarks left by those of us who think Kate is a brat, but it is just irritating to watch her and even the show.
I think the only reason I ever watch these shows that spotlight unusual families is because I like to see how other people manage their lives. Some of my favorite parts have to do with how they budget food shoppings and just the mundane daily stuff we all have.
Kate was always a know it all and just nagging, but we all know people like that and usually they have good intentions, but are in deep need of control.
What has happened to the show is that it is now completely unrelateable. I mean I cannot relate to having 8 kids, but I am 1 of 5 and really anything after 1 kid is a handful.
It is just that both Jon and Kate looked like all the parents out there that are frazzled and stretched to the limit, but at the end of the day they love their kids and don't mind all they have to do.
Now the show is about unrealistic vacations that even a small family could not afford. And it is not a once in a while trip, but every week is an adventure.
So, we are no longer watching them live their life (or look in their window as Kate used to say), but we are watching them live this life of luxury and it is just not the same. I don't begrudge anyone from giving their families all they can and having a good life, but there is just this air of entitlement that comes off Kate.
Jon has always had a sort of smug way about him, but not quite as irritating as her. She seems to think herself above everything and some of her comments to her kids are just harsh. They are toddlers and I think all the god-fearing can wait until they are a little older. I mean in all honesty to say the Colin conking his head was Gods brand of justice is just creepy.
And again it sounds like I only have issue with Kate when Jon clearly likes to take swipes at his kids, but he seems less mean spirited and just like any parent who is stressed and says something that is not kind. Except most people are not being taped all the time. With Kate it is always a moment for her to bestow her great parenting tips on the world.
Once they move into their huge custom built home (because you know that is the only way Kate will allow it to happen) I don't think I will be able to keep watching.
By the way, I know there is some sort of major tension between Kate and her sister-in-law, but what happened to Beth and her family? Weren't they the families constant travel companions?
