For me, I think the episodes aren't featuring the kids enough. Cara and Mady are absent a lot (I think school and choice). But the best moments have been
watching the tups mature. My favorite epi so far this year was when Kate and Mady went to San Diego and Jon was w/the rest.

Maybe people don't like watching them lounge around their mansion between free trips and gift sessions.
Maybe people are sick and tired of TLC crossover shows that have nothing to do with the Gosselins. Maybe the producers worst nightmares have come true, and nobody thinks bratty 5 year olds are anywhere near as cute as 2 year olds. Maybe the whole fun of the show was watching two parents deal with insurmountable odds, but now that we've discovered Jon and Kate are fcuk-ups like everyone else, we can finally turn off the TV and catch the end of our own relationships. |

Maybe there's too much Kate and not enough Jon.

I'm on overload with Jon & Kate. Can't stand them right now. Too many magazine covers/gossip websites. I haven't watched the last 2 episodes
because I can't stand seeing Kate. I'll keep em on the dvr and possibly watch in a few weeks.

No, actually people watched for the controversy. Those past few episodes were the highest watched yet, where were the interested people in Season One or Two
when they had tons of struggle and weren't as bitchy? Where were the people when they didn't have free trips?
Now that they're clear of controversy, people moved on. I admit, even I didn't watch the episode because they just showed the exact same thing earlier and it was boring. Maybe that's what happened to the viewers. But still, TLC isn't one of the major broadcast channels and the show should not be expected to beat those others show in Prime Time. |

2.9 million on cable, especially on TLC is incredible. I highly doubt another show on there gets that. Little People, Big World? The Duggars? If they got half
that they'd be doing good. Maybe American Chopper.

It looks like a swat, nothing too terrible. It's just that with all the negative publicity and paps swarming their house you think she would have had more
sense than to spank in front of them. That's such a hot button issue.
I also think they are losing viewers because the show is BORING. In the beginning it was a hardworking couple with a lot of kids. WHen Kate went to the spa in that one episode it was really like she did deserve it. Now they have had 2 spa episodes and the season has barely started; it's just not what they started out as. It's boring to watch people of any social class go shopping or get their nails done constantly. |

I never thought it was all about the kids, but quickly became an attempt by the two parents to try to get everything they could, even including tummy tucks and hair transplants I'm still on team Jon, but there's a whole lot of culpability to go around from not only Kate and Jon, but the producers of TLC for this train wreck. Hoping for nothing but the best outcome for the kids, whatever that may entail. |

How is it losing viewers? It's sure losing viewers compared to the SEASON FIVE opening, but it's lowest numbers for this season still beats the earlier
seasons.
But I agree, there's not even a video. It's just dumb pictures of a quick pat. Sometimes kids deserve a little swat to get them in line. Sometimes words, timeouts and threats are not going to do it. It's no where CLOSE to be classified as a "beating". |

Just another piece of evidence for the kids lawyers to use in 10 years when they want emancipation and a cut of the money. Ask Gary Coleman how that turned
out.

Well, you know Kate is pushing for all those spa episodes. It certainly isn't the viewers that want that.
As for swatting kids, they're people, not flies. And you have poor parenting skills if it gets to the point where you have to strike a kid to get them to behave. Just ask Supernanny. |

There are kids that can be reasoned with and others that will only respond to a spanking. I blame People who refuse to spank their kids for all of the
assholes running around today.

If you raised your kids right from the beginning, they would understand that the parents run the household and not them and they would not disobey.
It's more like the people that were hit and screamed at are the ones that turn out to be adult assholes. They never learned respect or diplomacy. |

Do you have kids? Have you ever spanked them?

Yeah, but what about the "red spoon" that she spanks them with?
she's heard threatening them with it in some episode. |

Why doesn't someone just leap out of nowhere and give Kate Gosselin a much-needed physical smackdown? If anyone needs a royal ass-whooping, it's HER,
and not any of her kids. Perhaps someone should attack her with some wire hangers and bathroom cleanser.

It's called testing the limits and every single child psychologist/pediatric behavioral specialist/any human with common sense will tell you that ALL children do it. It's how they learn about limits and acceptable behaviors and how to interact with other human beings. |
