I do kind of agree with you, he is able to mimic Bono impeccably. Which is why he does so many of their songs. But in his defense he is able to do non U2 songs as well. Here's an example, him doing Candle in the Wind which was one that just missed out on the top 100 cause I didn't want 4 Kurt songs on it

66.Bobby Flynn - Under Pressure (Australian Idol 4)

My friends, I give to you the best Idol in the history of the world. The voice of an angel, the soul of a poet and the looks of a gargoyle. Bobby Flynn is an artist, pure and simple. How he finished as badly as he did I will never understand, but it's clear he will end up a bigger success than anyone that season. His album is coming out soon too by the way, I am tres excited for that. I said i wouldn't comment on anyone's makeup again, but I lied. You gotta love Superhero Bobby here. 65.Malin Paterssen - I Can't Help Myself (Norwegian Idol 3)

I'd like to quote naj from yesterday here

"Louie only likes girls with weak tiny voices because they represent his meek and mild, submissive dream woman"
I'd like to argue that, but with this performance coming up I don't think I can. Maybe I have a squeaky voice fetish or something. But Malin is another one that just makes me smile. Most probably won't like her though.

I will combat all Bobby Flynn criticism by writing Bobbyownage in big colorful letters.

64.Bucky Covington - Best I Ever Had (American Idol 5)

As much as I say I hate American idol and as fond as I am of foreign shows, it's much a case of the grass is always greener. And you do have a natural affinity to your own show and the people on it. Maybe it's cause you can vote for them, or case you see them on all the tv shows, but you feel you know them better. Aside from maybe Bo, I have never been prouder of a contestant than Bucky. I remember going into the last few days of the Hollywood rounds his picture surfaced and we found out he was apparently in the top 24. I remember thinking no way somebody who looks like him is gonna be in the top 24, but he was. And after that I thought he would be gone for sure in the first few rounds, but he wasn't. Bucky didn't have the best voice but he had a great raspy, rough quality to his singing. And more important than that, he was a genuine, honest, real guy. And that radiated through the tv screen. The fact that he made it as far as he did with 0 pimping from anybody still amazes me. Here is my favorite performance from him. A song from Vertical Horizon which i've always loved and was completely unaware until he sang it that there was actually a country cover of it done.






63.Jim Bakkum - Jessie (Idol Netherlands 1)

I knew nothing about any other shows other than American idol before World Idol came around. I knew it started in England but had no idea other countries were having the same competition. But after I watched World idol I went all through the internets listening to the music from other shows. And one of the contestants that impressed me most was Jim, the second place finisher in the Ntherlands. Who lost to what appeared to be a young gay kid with lots of pairs of festive glasses. But thats not the point, the point is Jim was quite talented. He sang good songs, and overall just seemed a lot better than his competition. I don't speak Dutch so i'm unsure as to why he lost...but I reckon it was the pity vote. Here is Jessie...by Jim
