Ok, the people who upload the videos on youtube are being REALLY SLOW this week. *grumbles*

Top 6 Show!
Theme: Country (Yay, how generic!) 1. Linda Steen - "Let It Rain" by Amanda Marshall My response: It was alright. Not Linda's best but certainly not her worst. It seemed to drag a little by the end and I definitely heard some bum notes, but I really like Linda's voice so I enjoyed it. She looked cute, too. She didn't touch Ashley Leitao's version though. 2. Bjorn Johan Muri - "I Wanna Love Somebody Like You" by Keith Urban My response: Bjorn Johan has really grown on me. I like listening to him now and he really has improved in the competition. I still find him incredibly awkward to watch though. He looks so uncomfortable on stage. This was a great vocal performance though... with the exception of one really off note at that end. 3. Timian Ripnes Nastaad - "When You Say Nothing At All" by Garth Brooks (how many people have covered this song)? My response: Ok, so we all know that Timian sucks big time, but I actually thought this was good *GASP SHOCK HORROR*. I mean it was nothing amazing, but I didn't cringe at all during the performance and he picked a good song for himself. 4. Glenn Lyse - "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow" by Norman Blake My response: ... I really didn't like this at all... Bad song choice in my opinion. I just plain hated this. He didn't sound particularly great... I dunno... I can't pinpoint it, but I just didn't like this. 5. Aste Hunnes Sem - "Always on my Mind" by Willie Nelson My response: OMG, I loved this. She sounded so sweet. I really really really liked it. I thought there were a couple iffy runs here-and-there, but overall I seriously loved this. Whoa, the man judge guy gave her bad comments and he got LOUD boos. 6. Kim Rune Hagen -� " Ei krasafaren steinbu" by the Hellbillies (A Norwegian country song... special). My reponse: Well, it's in Norwegian so I can't understand a word, but it sounds pretty good. Kim Rune is very entertaining in the way he prances around the stage. It's funny, haha. I enjoyed this. Apparently Kim Rune is the favorite to win and his haters are calling him "Pig Rune." 
Overall I thought this was a good/enjoyable night. There really weren't any standouts on the good side, but there weren't any standouts on the negative side either. I guess that's a good thing. My ranking of the top 6 show: 1. Aste 2. Bjorn Johan 3. Kim Rune 4. Linda 5. Timian 6. Glenn (disappointing especially considering last week) The Verdict:

Bottom 2: Linda and Timian (Thank god it didn't come down to the two girls) Eliminated: Linda *SOBS* Ugh, Timian is still there!?!?! He outlasted Linda! This makes me sad. I know that Linda was going downhill fast, but I wanted her to at least make it farther than Timian. He's just not as good as the others... *sigh* Next week's theme: Big Baand Song choices: Glenn Lyse - Wonderwall Åste Hunnes Sem - And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going Kim Rune Hagen - Moondance Timian Naastad - Fly Me To The Moon Bjørn Johan Muri - I Get A Kick Out Of You (I really like all 5 of these song choices). |

I'm like a week behind due to all the schoolwork I had this past week, but I haven't forgotten about this! Theme: Big Band 1. Glenn Lyse - "Wonderwall" by Oasis My response: I dunno, I just didn't like it. I am either on or off about Glenn. Some weeks I like him, and some weeks I think he's really bland. I think he's got a great voice most of the time.. I just don't know what it is about him that kinda puts me off. 2. Aste Hunnes Sem - "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" by Jennifer Holiday My response: FABULOUS! I thought she seemed a little strained at parts, but she was great. Not one of her best, but it was very very good. 3. Kim Rune Hagen - "Moondance" by Van Morrison My response: I effing LOVED this! Oh, it was so good. I love this song, too.This kid has a lot of talent, but is he too similar to Kurt to win!?!? :O 4. Timian Ripnes Nastaad - "Fly Me To The Moon" by Frank Sinatra? My response: It was good for Timian, but "good for Timian" is still pretty horrible. 5. Bjorn Johan Muri - "I Get a Kick Out of You" by I dunno My response: I thought Bjorn Johan did a really good job. I still don't see a lot of personality out of him. His voice has definitely grown on me though. He did a good job. Overall: It's another solid night. I feel like it lacked a little bit of the excitement factor, but the talent is good! My ranking of the top 5 show: 1. Kim Rune 2. Aste 3. Bjorn Johan 4. Glenn 5. Timian The Verdict:

Norway Gives Back!
So, there were more performances (including a really cool "best of past contestants" medley :( ), but these are the only ones posted on youtube: Starting with a Christmas medley: Idols included in the medley in order of appearance: Maria Haukaas Storeng, Vivian Sormeland, Maren Flotve Birkeland, Cindy Hovde, Orji Okoraofor, Wisnu Witono Adhi, Tone Damli Aaberge <3333, Guate Ormassen, Bjorn Olav Edvardsen, Sandra Lyng Haugen, David Bakke What they sang: "God Bless Ye Merry Gentlemen" - Maria, Vivian, Maren, Cindy "Last Christmas" - Orji & Wisnu "Driving Home For Christmas" - Tone Damli Aaberge "Some Norwegian Christmas Song" - Gaute Ormassen "Merry Xmas (War is Over)" - Bjorn, Sandra, and David My response: It starts out with 3 of the best girls ever on Norwegian Idol (2 of which were ROBBED) and then... there's Maren... They all sounded pretty good though! Orji starts next and he messes up the words. Wisnu sounded alright. TONE DAMLI AABERGE!!!!! OMG She's a goddess! She's effing stunning and her tone is so soothing. I absolutely love her. Gaute, runner-up to Kurt Nilsen, is next and he sings some Norwegian Christmas song. Sounds good enough to me! Then there's like... a trio of horrible contestants... I think they're pulling a prank on the public by putting these next 3 together. Bjorn Olav, who got 12th place on his season... so they give him a solo in a special... starts singing without being on screen. Then the screen flashes to him and HE GOT SO FAT! Sandra is next and all I see is boobs. She sounded good for her though. David (FUGLYEST CONTESTANT EVER) is just standing there and he doesn't even get a solo line! :lbf That was my favorite part. Aleksander Denstand With & Marion Raven: Idols included: Aleksander Denstad With (Winner of season 4) Marion Raven was not an Idol contestant. She was one half of the Norwegian girl band M2M (along with GODDESS Marit Larsen). They were hugely popular in Norway and still are. Marion decided to go for a solo career and has been having great success. Marit started her solo career a while after Marion and has definitely caught up to Marion's success (I prefer Marit by far). What they sang: "Like a Prayer" by Madonna My response: LOVE! I love Marion. I love Aleks. They were great. <3 Winner's Medley: Idols included: Kurt Nilsen, Kjartan Salvesen, Jorun Stiansen, Aleksander Denstad With What they sang: "She's So High" - Kurt "Standing Tall" - Kjartan "This Is The Night" - Jorun "A Little Too Perfect" - Aleks "Beautiful Day" - Kurt & everybody My response: Part of Kurt's first song got cut off, but he sounded great as always. I really liked Kjartan, too. Jorun comes on stage and sings like 3 seconds of her song because she sucks giant wang. Seriously, Norway has so much female talent and this talentless hag gets to represent them... Aleks comes on and is great as always. <3 Then everybody rushes the stage to sing backup for Kurt. He's great. Idol 2007 Group Song: Idols included: This season's top 10. What they sang: "That's What Friends Are For" My response: Pretty much everybody sounded good save Timian. Isabella messed up and missed a line or two of her part. I loved seeing Anne again. She sounded great. Linda sounded notably good, too. Top 4 videos comin up tomorrow!... I'm the only one watching this thread though so....Whatever! :D

Just watched those Norway Gives Back videos.
I liked the Winner's medley because I really love Kurt and Kjartan but that Aleks guy was good too, I hadn't heard him before. I watched the video with Aleks and Marion too, it's good. I remember M2M from a couple years back, they had a song that was really popular on Hit List, I can't remember which song though but I liked it. |

Glenn Lyse - "Christmas" by U2 My response: I seriously don't get it about Glenn. Sometimes I love him and sometimes I hate him and I absolutely LOVED this. He chose a great song for himself. WTF with the dancing kids rushing the stage though? That seems.... unfair... Whatever. Oh, and WTF was wrong with Glenn's hair this week? It looked really bad. Duet 1 Aste & Glenn - "Help" by The Beatles My response: Glenn was screaming over Aste.. But I enjoyed both of them greatly. Glenn's shirt was a horrible choice though: his spare tire is hanging over. Duet 2 Bjorn Johan & Kim Rune - "Kids" by Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue My response: Uhm.... they sounded awful... If I could speak Norwegian, I'm sure that Aste would be my favorite contestant, personality-wise. That said, I didn't think she was that great this
week... she was really flat at the end of most phrases.

Theme: Judges's Choice 1. Glenn Lyse - "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen My response: TOUCHDOWN! Holy fuck, this was absolutely amazing and performance of the season so far! What a way to open the show! Go Glenn! 2. Kim Rune - "Hard To Handle" by Otis Redding My response: I thought it was alright. He sounded good enough on most of the song but he also went really nasally at some parts, too. The end was better than the beginning as well. 3. Bjorn Johan Muri - "Used To Love U" by John Legend My response: Oh. My. God. Where is the shy, timid Bjorn Johan and what did Norway do with him!?!? I like this new confident Bjorn Johan better! He exuded confidence for the first time! I actually felt a stage presence from him! The vocals were great, too! This was easily his best performance ever! When the performance is over, he revert back to his shy self. On a side note: I love the dancing background singer girls, haha. 1. Glenn Lyse - "Cries Like a Baby" by September When My response: Glenn is ON FIRE! That was stunning! A vocal masterpiece! He created a moment. He also reminded me a lot of DSDS3 winner Tobias Regner (that's a good thing). I loved that jump, too! The whole thing was great! Omg, he totally owned the night! 2. Kim Rune Hagen - "Patience" by Guns and Roses My response: The performance dragged a bit, but I thought it was still very good. Kim Rune showed a little vulnerability and that was nice. It was good. 3. Bjorn Johan Muri - "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper My response: I don't think Bjorn Johan's voice has ever sounded better than this. It was wonderful. He showed vulnerability and colored it up a bit to keep it interesting. He really gave it his all. Overall: This was probably the best show NI5 has had yet. Of course I missed Aste, but Glenn and BJ really pulled through and they delivered 2 awesome performances. Kim Rune was good, but not great. I'll be happy no matter who's in the finale. 1. WTF, you shetbags! The top 3 show was amazing and nobody comments!
Here's the song choices for the finale: 1. Bjorn Johan Muri - "In My Place" by Coldplay 2. Glenn Lyse - "Purple Rain" by Prince (I said he reminded me of Tobias this past week and now he goes and sings one of Tobias's best performances! <3333) 1. Bjorn Johan Muri - "New Shoes" by Paolo Nutini (repeat theme) 2. Glenn Lyse - "Here I Go Again by White Snake (repeat theme) 1. Bjorn Johan Muri - "Days Go By" (winner's single) 2. Glenn Lyse - "Days Go By" (winner's single) That is the performance order as well. As far as the winner's single goes, the title sounds pretty terrible, but Norwegian Idol's winner's singles have always been at least somewhat decent. Kjartan's "Standing Tall" and Aleks's "A Little Too Perfect" were both upbeat pop-rock songs that were very catchy. Hoping this one isn't so bad, too. |

I loved her every week, and it
sucks that this show still doesn't have a good female winner. Speaking of Jorun, while Tone was definitely robbed and should have won, I really didn't
mind Jorun all that much. I liked a lot of the songs she sang (even if she did them in a different way and seemed dead and awkward). It was Alejandro who I
couldn't stand.
I don't particularly care who wins. I preferred Åste, then Kim, but since they're gone, I guess Glenn deserves to win after what he did last week. The Christmas/charity special was nice. Cindy/Tone/Vivian/Aleks <3 Nice to see Aleks got a hair cut. David Bakke not singing anything was hilarious. I thought it looked like he was supposed to sing a line but blanked out. Isn't he in some lame boy band now with the Vietnamese guy and some random dude? |
