WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!

Just came home from a very long taping! It was pretty awesome but a lot of people in the audience were near fainting (a few people had to be taken out) because it was a really long time to be on your feet. The other top 20 dancers were also present (they stood on the catwalk the entire time) and served to be good eye candy in between the dances.

The judges: Jean Marc, Tre, Blake, Luther
Side notes: The clip packages were really cute this week (we learn that Nico is half deaf). It made me love Miles a lot. Also, in between the dances, there is this guy who entertains the audience and he tries to get people in the audience to dance with him. Miles' mom volunteered to dance during one of the breaks! It was adorable.

Group Dance/Solos/Duets in the order it was filmed:
Top 4 Dance - Street Jazz with Dan Karaty - lots of dancing with a cane. I wasn't really a fan of this one but perhaps watching it from a different angle would be different (I was standing at the side of the stage). The judges didn't really comment on the dancing - they mainly congratulated the top 4 for making it so far.

Nico and Natalli - don't remember which ballroom dance.. but choreographed by Gustavo Vargas - they were uptight business people who were getting all loose after work. This was pretty darn entertaining. Judges loved the two of them together and I think Blake said that he knew from the beginning that the two of them would make it this far.

First set of solos: (the judges made comments after every solo)
Allie - ballet - not as much en pointe work. The judges said they loved her and they applauded her for having such a great dance background.
Miles - popping - awesome as usual. The judges said they loved him and encouraged him to keep training.

Miles and Natalli - hip hop with Sho-tyme - apparently Miles messed up big time (I couldn't tell from where I was standing but all the judges brought it up) and he looked really upset at the end of the dance. However, all the judges tried to comfort him and told him that it was ok that he forgot some moves, Canada still loved him. They also gave Natalli a lot of props for being strong throughout the routine.

Nico and Allie - contemporary with Stacey Tookey. The storyline was that Nico and Allie are together and Nico was going off to war. This was really beautiful and the judges loved it. Jean Marc got teary talking about couples who are going through this in real life.

Miles and Allie - theatre with Sean Cheesman. The concept was that Miles and Allie were fighting for the remote control. It was kind of cute but it got mixed reviews from the judges. Luther and Blake weren't feeling it (said that it was a bit amaeteurish) but Tre loved it. Then the judges had a mini fake fight when Jean Marc made a comment about how males own the remote. (Tre and Leah did not take kindly to this comment)

Second set of solos: (I don't remember if Nico went first or if Natalli went first)
Nico - didn't blow me away but Nico is Nico and I will love him regardless of how good or bad his solo is. All the judges said they love him and Blake predicted that he would win it all.
Natalli - lots of dancing with her big black skirt - the judges talked about how she is so uninhibited and how they love that.

Allie and Natalli - go-go with Melissa Williams. They wore very shiny and skimpy outfits (think Madonna cone bras) and started on the catwalk and made their way onto the stage. Mixed reviews again - Luther and Blake didn't like it while Tre (who apparently used to be a go go dancer) and Jean Marc did. I thought it had a great beginning but it really lost steam halfway through. It was my least favourite number of the night.

Miles and Nico - capoeira with Paul - this was AWESOME and definitely a great way to end the show. For all those who wanted shirtless male dancers, this is the one for you. Their abs are so ripped!!! It was super athletic (Nico flips Miles off his back near the beginning) and really entertaining. All the judges loved it and it looked like they really enjoyed it themselves. Jean Marc said it knocked his socks off and then he proceeded to show his socks… and then he threw them into the crowd who then threw it back at him. This was a great moment.

Behind the scenes:
At the very end, when the four dancers were waiting for closing remarks, they were all still wearing their last costumes and the stage director introduced them as Abba because they were all wearing white. It was pretty funny. Miles also kept joking to the other top 20 and with Tre that he should pull down his pants and then pull down the girls' tops… it was more endearing than it sounds.

Anyway, that's it!

Okay, something that pisses me off is that not only do the guys get the good routine (again), while the girls get stuck with crap (shoulda done the lesbo thing), but the were the LAST ROUTINE! As if they didn't have enough of an advantage as is (being cute guys, and doing a good routine), so why give them that! I hate it when they end the show with anything other than the last group routine (which is the most fair thing to do)! Why they didn't do it for S3 and this season is kinda annoying, and it makes for an anticlimatic end to the show. Although, maybe the capoeira isn't as great as they say, since Paul IS the choreographer, and he hasn't had the best track record (and since Melissa is doing the go-go routine, it might be better than expected... but I doubt it).

Edit: I just learned that Nico, in fact, did his solo LAST! As if he didn't have enough of an advantage. I guess the winner has become even more obvious (if that was even possible). Also, Nico/Natalli did a salsa (so I bet Nico was a lot worse than the judges say, just like last time).
