LOL How many times can you get congratulations for being a quitter. I quit smoking cold turkey in June of 2000, best thing I ever did for myself!! It was my second try, the first try I stupidly smoked a few cigars and that blew it for me!! LOL Took me 3 months to decide to try again. Now the only thing I must admit to is that if I am around someone smoking I enjoy a nice deep inhale of 2nd hand smoke. It rarely happens anymore because I don't think I know anyone that smokes any more!!

My husband tried to quit at the same time, but he still smokes (not as much as he used to, though). I quit Thanksgiving of 2007 - a few months ago when I was more than a little tipsy, I tried to smoke a cigarette again and it tasted horrible!

I have the inhalers but haven't tried them yet, everyone I know who has tried them says it gives them a sore throat. I talk for a living so I'm scared to try them, lol. I really should, though, I do need to quit. I was doing really well for a while but......

I kept taking it for well over a year after I quit, just as a precaution, and it seemed to start having a reverse effect in terms of mood. I was getting aggressive and road-ragish, which isn't like me at all. Stopped taking it and got back to normal very quickly, and still haven't smoked. I'm almost at the 2 1/2 year point. And congrats to you, Pete! escapist: Have you heard about the electronic cigarettes, or e-cigarettes? I've read about them, and seen some of the adverts on youtube. Looks like it might be worth checking out. It kind of looks like something that might've helped me, because I think my biggest hangup was the ritual of smoking itself more so than just the nicotine drug addiction. I quit for several months then started again .. then went back on it .. quit for a few more months then started again... I am doomed.
