I just hope they don't drag out the Izzy/Denny storyline for the rest of the season. Although, knowing this show, they could kill Izzy off, and Alex will end up seeing the ghosts of both Izzy and Denny next season, since they apparently can't seem to let it go. I work with an Asperger's client and I totally related to the new heart surgeon. I think she did a great job along with what the writers gave her to work with. It was very realistic from my experiences. Personally, I may be the only one who does not have an issue with Denny on the show. I also feel his character brings out some of the best in the actress playing Izzy (who I also like). It's Meredith/George/Derek who drag me down on this show.

What was the reason given for Hahn's departure? Did they say anything about that report she was going to file which would've gotten the hospital in trouble?

We're STILL in sync after all of these years, my dahling! ;) I turned to Ken after a few mins of watching the new surgeon and said, "Asperger's!" I love Denny! Izzy's Ok, too. Don't always like her storylines ( HATED her with George! ), but I think she's a really fine actress. Am not going to like this brain tumour thing ( Honestly. It's done to death! No pun intended..ssts ), especially since I LIKE that Alex and Izzy are finally together. I too was getting burnt out on the Meredith/Derek thing, but I liked them last night. I like Christina getting in the way, but I also like them working out their issues, instead of breaking up over every.little.thing. It was actually NICE to see Meredith happy! HOT love always, for Christina and Bailey. And for Journeyman Dan/Lucious Vorenus! YY!

I thought I heard Karev say something to Izzy at the beginning of the episode about Hahn's "issue" or Hahn's "problem" or something, but that it didn't matter because Hahn wasn't there anymore. But like I said, I wasn't paying very close attention. I'll be ticked if after Hahn was so worked up about it last week, it's just never even mentioned again. The writers knew going into the episode that it would be Hahn's final show (the actress said she learned that she was being let go shortly after filming that bedroom monologue from the previous episode), and that's a story that they could follow-up on even without Hahn being at Seattle Grace anymore. Why would they have even introduced it if they had no intention of finishing it?

The only thing I really miss is the interaction all the main characters had while they were interns. I loved the dynamic and the chemistry. Everyone now is so spread out we never see Meredith, George, Izzy, Alex, and Christina in the same scene and I miss that. I miss the George/Izzy friendship.

I don't see why either are needed and introducing them both in the same episode was too much. I did however like Cristina being a bitch to Sadie and I hope they keep that up. The Izzie/Denny thing seems really fanficish to me. Anyway, still loving Lexie, Owen and Callie. ETA - I also really liked the song at the end of the episode. Anyone know who sings it?

He wanted the donor heart out & he wanted to let his medicine man burn it. Was his original heart put back in & it started beating on it's own? Where had it been all this time? In a pickle jar?

I think they said that when they had done his first transplant, the donor heart was deemed too small, so they "piggybacked" it onto his existing heart (rather than removing his old heart and just installing the transplant). So, he actually has had two hearts in his chest all these years. When they went to remove the transplanted one, his original heart started beating again. Dr. Rainman said that perhaps, after "resting" for six years (or however long it had been since his transplant), his own heart had repaired itself.

They removed the transplanted heart and his original heart started beating. Dr. Dixon said that perhaps the time between the original surgery and then was enough for his heart to rest and heal itself. She had read about it, but never seen it. eta: yeah, what he said lol

Cliched Aspergers doc? Got that. Secret cutter? Got that. Anger that leads to kissing? Got that too. And wtf with Izzy having sex with her hallucination? Is Alex going to come in after burning the sweater to see her writhing around on the bed humping the air? They better wrap that shit up pdq, I fucking HATE it with a passion. And the interns...They're going to do an appendectomy on one of them just for practice? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!?! Every single one of those fuckers would be kicked out of the program, and the guy who lets them do it should be working at McDonalds because there is no way he was smart enough to get through med school. Holy fuck, this was the worst hour of tv I've seen in a long ass time. ETA: I knew there was another cliche I was forgetting. The doctor that goes above and beyond (for a homeless guy with no health insurance, no less) and then bursts into *#$%% when the patient dies, but it's actually because of her personal life, not the patient. The denny ghost is probably the most annoying character on tv. Maybe he had a long term contract they can't get out of. So he keeps repeating "I'm here for you" and the haunted heart transplant patient said you must never touch a ghost. But she touched denny so now she must die although she probably should have been struck by lightning right there for more excitement but now they'll drag it out. If it's a brain tumour it will be a melodramatic tearjerker.
