Well, I think we all know exactly how she did that - by recruiting the entire fair state of Hawaii!

KLo still having hissy fit over nonexistant insult, 5 years later | ||
|
I am amazed that KLo is still pissed at Randy for picking the "wrong" song for her. Even if she's correct, which I'm not at all sure of,
she'd already said she wouldn't have made the final two regardless of what happened that night. So what exactly is she angry about? I guess she really
IS a bitch, like some sucksters are saying.

I just watched this weeks Rewind, and although I'm not really a huge fan of either, I thought Clay blew Ruben away that night.
*His songs had a much higher degree of difficulty. *He had much more range and could hit really high notes, Ruben to me seemed to be under a lot of the notes. *I was also turned off on Ruben's excessive sweating during his performance, maybe he should have performed in a tank top, not a heavy suit. *I felt the judges overpraised Ruben this week, he even admitted he didn't feel it was one of his better weeks. *Part of this is not really Ruben's fault- Clay had much better songs, Bridge Over Troubled Water is an amazing song, and I liked his version of it. *And I agreed with Simon on one thing, Clay's appearance on the final performance night- he really did look kind of handsome. It is commendable that neither Ruben or Clay are egomaniacs, unlike Kim Locke or even Trenyce. They both seem really nice and modest on all their 2007 clips. |

I will disagree that Kim is an egomaniac. I just think she's a bitch. And I will disagree about Trenyce. How did you get "egomaniac" from
anything she said/did throughout the entire show? I thought that throughout all her confessionals, she came across as very real.

I think she performs with a certain amount of cockiness, if that makes any sense... And, off topic a little bit, but her facial contortions always bothered me a lot more than Clay's. Her snarls and lip curls really grossed me out! |

I didn't like Trenyce until the AI2 Tour. I think she comes across really well in her commentary on Rewind. I wish she had been more like that back in
the day. I'd like to see her do well.

It was sure fun to watch that Finale again - with a space of five years' time in between. This time I could be totally happy for Ruben, knowing that Clay
didn't disappear and has a fine career going. I love all their comments about their friendship, etc. What special young men they are.
I do wish they had shown their duet with the little "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" dance. It was just adorable and I was hoping to see it again. I could probably find it at a Clack site if I looked hard enough, though. I didn't know Ruben had a clothing line! I'm looking forward to hearing his new CD, and hope that I will like it since I haven't liked any of his others, except a couple of songs on the gospel album. If I like it, I'll even buy it to show that I have no hard feelings. What struck me again tonight is how short Ruben made Clay look. To this day, people are shocked at how tall Clay is cause they thought he looked about 5'8" next to Ruben. Well, Clay is 6' 1" - but Ruben is 6 foot 6! He looked like a mountain up there.

anybody would ask her and I'm glad she said what she wanted to say. That round was bullshit anyway and I bet they fucked up her cue too. (Mind you, her
"randomly" getting Band of Gold had to be because she was screwing Son of Nigel otherwise I'm sure she would have gotten Britney or something.

I liked what Clay had to say about AI. It certainly lays to rest any doubt that he appreciates what this show did for him:
QUOTE
If I could go and do what we did on AI every week for the rest of my life, I would do it. Sign me up. It was without question the most enjoyable experience
I've ever had. Even the times that it wasn't great, even the times where it was nerve wracking, even the times where something happened that I
didn't want to happen. You learn something from it - and it is literally the best summer camp experience that anybody could have. I've got great
friends out of it. I've actually been able to have dreams of mine come true because of it and it really was the most fun I've ever had in my life.

Season 3 on Idol Rewind would be amazing. Amazingly BAD. In retrospect, it's difficult to see how the show survived at all, albeit with needed changes
(redoing the semifinal format, raising the age limit). Having Mantasia win was like having Lukas Rossi win Rock Star: Supernova--by all rights, it was such a
horrible mistake that it should have led to the show's cancellation. But the season's flaws would still be glaringly obvious even if one of the few
singers with a good voice (Jennifer, Latoya, Diana) had won. Watching the semifinals again, and seeing just what a bad group of singers viewers had to choose
from, would be interesting to say the least. Plus I want to see Scooter Girl again. Yum!
Incidental observation: Since I'm not a Blake fan (though he's still a whole lot better than Mantasia), in some ways I see season 6 as being a bit like season 3. Not as bad (nothing could be!), but sort of like season 3 as if Diana had won instead of Mantasia. |

Season 3 may have been bad, but it was a great time for this board. Some of the fan fiction and other threads were great. Plus, hello, Whatevia!!!

Season 3 <3
I love the first 4 seasons because they were so unpredictable, epic, and more surreal. The later seasons have yet to replicate that and they are all pretty predictable and boring. In Season 4 they got their ultimate Idol Carrie, now I don't think they really care much about finding a superstar now. |

I do agree that subsequent seasons have become predictable but it's not because they stopped looking for superstar, they are always looking for their next superstar so they can make a shitload of money off them... the problem is the talent pool of real, untapped talent with that kind of charisma is pretty shallow. |

Oh I don't think so. Its called American Idol, not World Wide Idol for a reason. Knowing you ILGE, you'd want to narrow the competition by defining it
as The chubby girl that was the first to win and can sing sorta Idol.
I crack me up! |
