I don't see the point of having a new anti-spoiler policy if it isn't going to be applied consistently. You called me out for posting something in another thread that wasn't even spoiler-based, and then you let the edgicers run wild with spoilers.

Obviously, given the RAMPANT Spoilers in Spec, there IS no posting policy possible in Spec. Other than to move Spec to a SPLINERBOARD where EVERY post is subject to editing., which isn't going to happen.

Besides, you admit you have no idea how to enforce the anti-spoiler policy, so then why did you come up with it in the first place? Either enforce it consistently or scrap it. Because right now it's a joke.

I didn't come up with the policy. Speckers did. They demanded it of the Admins.

They decided to enforce it with the little stupid Stickie, "This Forum is Source-Free." After much un-listened-to complaints that trying to enforce a no-spoiler rule with an F'n Stickie was RIDICULOUS, I VOLUNTEERED to TRY to enforce the rules.

It WAS a JOKE. It CONTINUES to be a JOKE. Because a certain 10% INSISTS on posting Spoilers in Spec. And another 20-30% PRETEND to be unspoiled while reading Spoilers just to supposedly gain some kind of ADVANTAGE in Spec. That others will be AMAZED by their Speculation abilities, when, in fact, they are simply Spoiled.

They DISRESPECT the majority of Speckers who wish NOT to be spoiled. Apparently, there is no way to stop spoilers short of setting up a password-protected Splinterboard where every post awaits Moderation. Because of the minority who INSISTS in violating the rules of this sub-board, contrary to the will of the vast MAJORITY.

ProbstFan, I, again, am sorry for singling YOU out for an edit. I thought simply posting There's a New Sheriff in Town!!! would be enough for people wanting to post Spoilers in Spec would be enough for them to think twice. I was wrong. I thought editing your post, which was in a thread completely INAPPROPRIATE for any kind of winner speculation (as opposed to Edgic where winner/placement Spec is the NORM) would be the kind of SHOT ACROSS the BOW that would keep SPOILED people from posting Spoiler-based posts in Spec. Again, I misunderestimated how BLATANTLY people would violate the ESTABLISHED rules of Spec.

YOUR violation was NOTHING compared to the violations in Edgic. But I was faced with a CONUNDRUM. If I edit every post that contains a Spoiler, doesn't that lend CREDENCE to the Spoilers I am editing? Thus, everyone who reads Spec can simply look at the posts I edit and discern what the spoilers are. I decided it was better to review the spoilers' history and their inherent BIASES and advise numerous e-mails to me to take what these posters have said with a grain of salt.

The gist of your PF's post is: "If no one can enforce the rules, why even TRY"??? Why, indeed.

Maybe because Speckers WANT them enforced?
