Wow... I can't believe this is still going on over here! Scratching my head at to why "the haters" (doesn't matter who they hate), seem to hate with such a vengence. I really don't understand it. Being happy has it all over feeling and exuding hatred. O well. different strokes I guess. <shrug>

This whole rigging debate is a moot issue for me. With or without pressure from TPTB, I think Eric was actually down with the plan.

When Dick first approached Eric about Eric and Jessica alligning up with Danielle and himself, I do believe Dick made a convincing argument in more ways than one, and I DO believe Eric actually agreed with him. Dick approached the idea from a few different angles, all well thought our and all of which made sense.

1. was that Eric was at the bottom of his groups ladder and would be the first one out once the inevitable canabalization began. This was most likly what would have happened and Eric knew that.

2. As both lovers of the BB 'game' they both seemed to like the idea that their season could be the one where those playing the hardest made it to the end, and the shirt-tail riders wouldn't have a chance to slide in to homebase never having had to do any of their own 'dirty work'.

3. The 4 of them stood a good chance to cream the others in the competitions.

Now, Eriic also had an added reason that he couldn't share with any of the others, and that was that it was obvious that the fans also wanted to see some real players at the end. He had the added advantage of knowing which HGs were liked and which weren't, by the fams. He also learned what the fans could do to him if he continued to try to play his own game. so... why not play the game he was 'hired' to play?.... that of America's player?

and let's not forget that Eric had to be thinking that he could beat a Donato in the F2 more easily than one of the 'beloveds'.. Amber, Jameka or even Jessica.

So IMO, even with revisionistic history being written on all fronts, I believed at the time, and believe now, that Eric DID see Dick's plan as a mighty good one. (So did I). We even saw and heard him explain it to us in one of his AP Diary sessions, and seemed mighty convincing, acting abilities or not.

If Jessica hadn't been stricken with paranoia and her fear of looking like one of the 'bad people' to the 'good people', ERic wouldn't have had second thoughts now, or then. Despiter her ability in the challenges, Jessica was not a very good player and became an albotross arounf Eric's neck. Had he had Jen as his partner, rather than Jessica, he may have faired much better.

That's my take anyway. Sorry bout it being so long winded, it's just that the facts seem to get clouded by the hatred. Whatever, the drama caused by having both Dick and Eric as AP in the house, made the season one of the best for me.
