My city is kind of freaking out about Hurricane Dean and they are making me paranoid. Is it wrong that aside from worrying about whether or not my house will
still be standing, I'm worried that my satellite will blow away and I won't get to watch my shows?

nah, I think I'll raid the wine cellar (actually it's a cabinet) instead. Besides it's too early to panic.
Oh, steer clear of malls this wekend, I drove buy one today and the parking lot was as bad as the weekend before Christmas. |

ya gotta understand the mentality down here - at the first sighting of a hurricane, even way out in the Atlantic, the weatherpeople go into overdrive - if it
even enters the gulf, hyperdrive is engaged. Given that most people seem to take anything said on the news as gospel truth, panic ensues and people rush to
grocery stores, lumberyards and drugstores, then the newsmedia show displays of the panic, thus generating more panic.
oughta be lots of fun this weekend with the taxfree shopping going on along with the OMG we're all gonna die shopping. me, I'm planning on vegging out at home. |
