They should not have a hurricane named Nana. My Nana was sweet and baked cookies. They should shorten the name it to Nan, or give a southern sounding name like
Nurlean, but don't use my Nana.

Someone at the National Hurricane Center obviously has some Nana issues

The "Nana" in my life is a firecracker and knows how to mix it up. I hope that this hurricane is more like a milk-n-cookies kind of Nana.

Has anyone here read "Isaac's Storm," a book about the Galveston hurricane in 1900? It's riveting.

Yep. Great book. This is the latest I've ever seen a storm. |

Why hasn't anyone blamed this on Obama yet?
(Not that I think this is his fault. I tend to blame weather disasters on Rush Limbaugh, personally.) |

Obama hasn't been sworn in yet. This is still Bush's fault.

Grand Cayman had minimal damage, but Cayman Brac and Little Cayman were both hit by the eye : (
Cloud tops are warming on infrared so the storm is getting a little weaker. From wunderground: Paloma is now the second strongest November hurricane on record in the Atlantic. Hurricane Lenny of 1999, a Category 4 hurricane with 155 mph winds, was the strongest November hurricane on record. Paloma shares second place with Hurricane Michelle of 2001 (Cat 4, 140 mph) and Hurricane Greta of 1956 (Cat 4, 140 mph). |
