The topic has been expanded in a futile attempt to save the thread. Now everyone should feel free to discuss any player in Survivor history they feel is overrated/underrated as a strategist.

I think that Ethan is the most overrated winner ever. People say that his win proves that you can play a clean game and win Survivor... No, his win proves that if you're in a majority alliance consisting mainly of strategic morons you can coast to the finals without doing much of anything. Ethan strategized exactly TWICE the entire game: the Silas boot and the Brandon boot. Other that that, I can't recall him doing anything strategic. Ethan also lucked out by having the three other people in his alliance lining up to lose to him in the finals. Brian H. had that as well, but Brian got in that situation by design; Ethan by happenstance.
Vecepia is the most underrated winner, in my mind. A lot of folks say that she won mainly because the jury was bitter against Neleh, and while that certainly is a part of it, you'll have a hard time convincing me that Neleh, who by her own admission didn't start playing the game until day 24, had a better grasp of strategy than Vecepia. Sure, Vee was UTR and passive, but that was her plan from the beginning, and I can respect that. Plus, Vee clearly outperformed Neleh in the final jury arguments (although that's not saying much, as Neleh gave one the worst jury performances of all time).
