While everyone has the right to post and wishes to see their headline on the front page, respect for others tells us to first see if it can fit within an existing thread first. If the subject is a duplication of another floating subject on the board, there is a good chance the second one will be locked. If the post has nothing to do with the topic of the forum it also has a good chance of being locked. If that happens, consider re-posting it to the board where it belongs. Redundant posts will be deleted. So will advertisements for other boards. If you see that your post has been deleted or locked, please take that as an indication that it was not suitable, and please do not repost it. The board is not restricted to adults and this should be kept in mind when posting. Flaming is an accepted risk of any board, but not hurtful personal attacks. Spamming and repeated and flagrant breaches of the rules will get you banned. The Board is here for your enjoyment. Hopefully these simple rules will help.

Only one thing left out--is it a "repeated and flagarant" violation to post bad things about this board on other boards (when we are not in violation of the other board's rules by doing so). If so, why? If not, why was I banned when I did none of the things that you said would get us banned, and none of my threads was ever locked/deleted? MadWoman

The banning criteria appears to have been more of an ad hoc matter until now so it is difficult to say why you may have been banned in the past. If you follow the above rules you should be safe from now on. If you feel unjustly banned in the future, please post to here under a new name and ask, and we shall endeavor to respond or correct the situation if the banning was unwarranted. I hope this answers your question

You will see, however, that under the thread, "request for clarification..." in this forum, I anticipated your advice. I have been posting there once a day for a few days asking why I was banned and requesting that my ban be removed. I also emailed ss.com. I have received no response. My posting there explains my situation. Please feel free to delete this post. I would not have posted it here (realizing that it is not relevent to this thread--I'm not a rulebreaker) but it seemed the only way to get a response. MadWoman/ImStillWaiting

I just find it a little bit unreasonable that people post, and maybe they have something good to say or not, but it is there right. Why can't the mods just let people post what they want, as long as it doesn't offend anyone, and usually it is just bs, but it is fun to read, and u want to respond, but u can't b/c it's locked. Just think how you would feel if you had a question, or message, and it was locked? all we want is a place to write our opions, after all, is that a right?

People type "bump" as a reply to a post they like to "bump" it up the board. Some times this is a good thing. Most of the time it isn't. If you repeatedly bump your own thread just to get attention, it will likely get locked.

When you "bump" a thread, you are basically saying "I have nothing to add, but this is a good topic and I want to keep it on top" or in some cases "Can someone answer my question?" Make sense?

I think it's kinda funny that if you read down, you will see another madwoman post about this subject. Ahhhhhhh, the little ironies of life. Just wanted to note one thing. Obviously with it being in between shows, we are a little more relaxed on the Off Topic part of this. Once we get closer to the show starting up again, the off topic rule will become more stringent. But there are two things that will always be enforced to the letter. "The board is not restricted to adults and this should be kept in mind when posting. " Okay, we all get a little dirty sometimes but graphic porn will not be tolerated. End of discussion. "Spamming and repeated and flagrant breaches of the rules will get you banned." This includes posting links to other message boards. This is not because Survivor Sucks is a jealous place and doesn't want it's members to seek out other boards. This rule is in place because this board has over 9,000 members and would be a goldmine for a spammer. If we allow even one person to start advertising their site, we would soon be overrun with spammers who want to advertise to a very large, available audience. If spamming of any kind were allowed, soon there would only be spam. If there any questions, please feel free to post them here and we will do our best to answer them.

Well, the FACT is they DID advertise here, and they DID NOT get in trouble for it. I think all of you mods and admins need a set of rules to go by because at seems that all of the mods, well, I can't speak for all of them, but I think I can speak for grift, are scatter brained. Is all of this arguing helping anything? Probably not, so I suggest we stop here. GOT IT?

I imagine I'm not your favorite person, either, but I would like to direct your attention to BeefJerky's post stating that while he realizes things may have been done on a rather "ad hoc" basis in the past, from now on every effort will be made to enforce the rules in a clear and consistent manner. I speak only for myself in saying that, for my part, that I will make every effort to be fair and consistent in following these guidelines. I'm not trying to play favorites with anyone, All I've ever wanted is nice, clean, fun home in which to play, and I hope you stick around and share your talents with us in order to help to create that happy community.
