By any chance do you think people hate Chris because he is considered to be a blue-collar winner? If I am not mistaken, white-collar or affluent winners are usually the most popular (Tina and Tom anyone?).

Tom was a firefighter, the epitome of blue-collar

It's not that he's blue collar, I think it's more that he's sort of rural. There are huge chunks of America who want nothing to do with a guy
who loves Nascar or would have his wedding at a Nascar event. That's what has always worked against him.

In other word, anyone who may be a fan of "Larry the Cable Guy" will be more likely to be hated than anyone who may be a fan of NYC/LA-based
comedians in"Chris Rock" Or "Dave Chappele".

Yeah, that's a pretty good analogy. It's a red state/blue state thing. NASCAR doesn't tend to fly very well in small (but well populated) parts
of the country.
This subject even came up in our conversation. The very first thing Lorie (Chris' wife) asked me when I talked to her on the phone was is if I was into Nascar. And I felt sort of embarrassed to say that I wasn't. I said something lame like, "Um in Seattle I don't think many people watch it." I think she was sort of surprised to hear that. She said that she and Chris don't travel very much.

Unlike Chris, Brandon is young and single and is a subject of AMAI's infamous erotic fanfic. I'm pretty sure he is the youngest "rural"
castaway that ever play Survivor unless you exclude Dolly who is not even popular with Sucks.
