I decided to stream the entire album from AOL to get a feel for how the album flows and my honest opinion is that it's awkward. The transitions between songs are choppy and uneven IMO.

Songs I hadn't heard and my opinion of them for what that is worth:

Quitter: This one is alright. The phrasing is kind of off somehow. Seems slapped together.

Change: This is a good song. I love the chorus and how she sings "just a fool just a fool to believe you can change the world" Her voice is nice here.

Songs like this: Again Carrie is singing about a man who did her wrong LOL. This is a staple for all songs I think. I like the song but the transition into temporary home is jarring and off putting.

This Time: I kind of zoned on listening to this one and that can't be a good sign.

Look At Me: Carrie's voice is beautiful here. I like this one but probably not enough to want to listen to it over and over. I'm not sure I like the constant "weakness" Carrie exhibits in her songs. I'd like more empowering songs.. more "I don't need you" type messages.

Unapologize: Decent song. It's the one song where Carrie seems to reach for her signature wail and it works here. I can see her going for the rafters on this one live.

What can I say Did not like this one. Not sure what to make of it.

Play On: this is a good song. I can see this one being used in the Olympics.

My impression is it's a good CD, not great and certainly not on the same level as SH or even CR. The songs lack the level of sing-a-long quality that many of Carrie's other songs have had in the past. IMO many of the songs lack real melodies. There are some gems like CC, TH and SDWISLY but overall for me, it's a much weaker effort than her first two albums. I can see what she was going for but I think she missed the mark.

I still think it will sell well because it's Carrie and she's got a large and loyal fanbase but I don't think it will sell as much as CR.
