It's not really the same thing...just ask video game geeks. When some asshole kills you, you call them a fag...you don't call them the n word. A lot of kids today use it as a general insult and nothing against homosexuals. If they did it with the N word it would just be like wtf I don't call people that when they cut me off? It wouldn't make sense to anyone except for vile racists.
