Most boys have a dark side, I built gas bombs and pipe bombs as a preteen. I grew out of it, and never killed or hurt anyone... other than temporarily affecting my hearing.

I had a friend who wrote school mass murder stories years before Columbine. Boys do that. Then they grow up and become good citizens and smack the stupid out of their own sons for doing exactly what they did decades earlier. So the cycle of affected males continues.
