** 57. COURTNEY MARIT **
I know it's practically unheard of that someone not love this batshit bitch, but I don't. She's annoying. Don't get me wrong, she definitely had some lolworthy moments and I totally appreciated her contribution to EI, but I just absolutely cannot stand her. My first memory of Courtney is when she had some kind of yoga/zen fusion funeral for a dead, beached sea turtle. At that point I kind of thought I might love her, but that quickly faded. When Shane threatened to hunt her down in her shitty apartment and kill her, I was on his side. There's just something about her that grates on my nerves. That being said, she is this high because she was unintentionally hilarious and also because I remember her being a kickass competitor in at least one competition against Boys Club President Terry Deitz, so that definitely earns her some points. Plus she was a well-intentioned girl, like when she offered to serenade Bruce off into the sunset when he dying from being too full of shit (he declined her offer, sadly). But still, she grated.
On Courtney's personality: Courtney seemed a little spiritual and a lot hippie and annoying in the exact way you would expect a "spiritual hippie" to be. I think in real life, when her most aggravating personality traits aren't condensed into a fifteen minute segment, Courtney would be a chill person to hang out with. But on tv: no. Just no. I don't get why people like her so much.
On Courtney's gameplay: Courtney unintentionally set herself up to be a lock for F2 by having the opposite of a good social game. She was so horrible she was good. If it wasn't for Cirie's brilliant maneuvering, Courtney could've been a winner maybe somehow. I think she was also kind of good at the challenges but I only have the vaguest memories of her holding something above water to back that up, so idk.
On Courtney's placement: Courtney was a "character" and she did provided entertainment, so I didn't put her as low as I would've just based on my own personal feelings about her personality. Her fire dancing was pretty cool, so that's something. People always say she was robbed because she wasn't asked back for FvF, and it sounds like she got passed up for S20 too. I wans't aware that Courtney was such a big deal before I started posting at Sucks so idk how accurate it is to say that she would make a good choice for a returning player. Regardless, she goes here almost in the middle of the pack.
