- 59. AMY O'HARA -
What a time-worn hag <3 Amy is yet another unique Survivor woman gone before her time. My favorite thing about Amy is that she was apparently very brash and would use swear words completely indiscriminately. I love that in a surly, butch policewoman. I think Amy is most famous for being run over by these giant balls in this reward challenge, hurting her ankle (which I think may have already been hurt, idk Amy isn't cute so I didn't spend a lot of brainspace committing her journey to memory). Amy being mercilessly run over by those oversized balls is one of the most hilarious visuals to ever come out of Survivor, and it's even funnier because those balls basically took her out of the game as she was voted off right before the merge because of her ankle injury. lmao. But Amy did fight through the pain and she was a tough broad so gj Amy! Sidenote: she has randomly been suggested several times in several different formats (lists, youtube videos, etc) as a great candidate for an ASS season, which is just so obscure and outlandish to me that it may have boosted her rating here a bit.
On Amy's personality: Amy is a tough cookie with a potty mouth and a New England accent which is
ADORABLE. She's so stereotypical but at the same time, so different. There really should be more Amy's cast on the show. I love her feisty nature
and complete lack of class.
On Amy's gameplay: People liked Amy but she was voted out right before the merge so I guess they didn't like her that much. I can't really imagine her strategizing per se, but I do think her bonds with the boys on her team could've taken her pretty far if she hadn't had that leg injury.
On Amy's placement: I like Amy and I like the idea of Amy, so that's why she's this high. I honestly can't think of a reason she should be any higher as she had a relatively limited impact on the Survivor franchise and a lot of people probably don't even remember anything specific about her beyond that she got steamrolled by giant balls. But like I said she does come up a lot when people are talking returning female Survivors (of course it's always those people that hate all pretty women
You know the ones), so good for
her I guess.
