< 78. LYDIA MORALES >
In case you don't remember Lydia, she was Guatemala's token older lady and token UTR F4 (multipurpose <3). She was very nice and polite and a very hard-worker, but the only thing that's really interesting about Lydia is that she spent all of her season getting shat on by different contestants and Jeff Probst himself. I don't know if I could even list all of the negative adjectives used to describe Lydia, but they were all variations of "worthless" and "pathetic" and all were because she was totally horrible in challenges. That kind of nonsense is to be expected from Jeff Probst but I remember thinking it was kind of weird how brutal everyone was about that particular failing, especially given the fact that she was like a middle-aged midget, basically. When Lydia asked Stephenie why she didn't take her to the F3, Stephenie basically told her to her face that it was because she was so pathetic and Stephenie didn't want an easy win. lol. Poor Lydia. As I said she was very sweet and upbeat and totally someone I would want in my camp, I think. She's just not interesting to me or important in any way so w/e.
On Lydia's personality: Lydia was always happy and dancing around but she was not above telling a bitch where to go in the most polite and blah way possible. For instance, in the "who is most popular" chopping challenge Lydia about had a fit because she was so fucking tired of Stephenie getting to eat all the damn time, and she let her voice be head on the subject. Of course she was kind of shut down by Stephenie like, immediately, but props to her for trying! I appreciate a polite, nice person who can only take so much bullshit you know? She had some fire in her and she was a scrapper.
On Lydia's gameplay: Lydia capitalized on how disastrous she was in the challenges. Or at least she tried to. Several times this was her pitch for her to not be voted off, which I think is smart and really her only card to play. She wasn't one of the cool kids and she was not going to win a challenge no matter what is was, so why not? Of course that kind of plan earns you zero respect with the other castaways, which I think is sort of unfair. I mean Lydia did last a long time. And she was a really hard worker around camp and tried to make herself valuable in other ways. She did what she could and played her hand as well as she could, and really she was voted off for completely illogical and stupid reasons, so her gameplan was more solid than it might appear.
On Lydia's placement: Lydia was nice and had some funny moments during Guatemala and I had a lot of sympathy for her because of how she got broke down at every opportunity by Probst and the others
