Up until a few days I thought I was someone who was just "meh" on Amanda. I give her credit for having a solid game (and she does) and think that she is largely inoffensive. I didn't really "get" the hate. Then I read that she was under consideration to return for S20, and the amount of revulsion I had at the mere idea of her coming back led me to confront some hard truths about myself: I cannot effing stand Amanda Kimmel. What possible motivation could they have for bringing her back? She got to the end TWICE. What more could we see of her? What else does she have to offer? More than anyone else I find the idea of another season full of Amanda to be LUDICROUS and completely unjustified. Amanda is a bland person to begin with. She just is. That by itself is not enough to dislike her and she has had some pretty epic moments, hence her not being lower, but she is honestly just a boring sad-sack blahddess with nothing to offer me entertainment-wise. Disappear forever Amanda.


On Amanda's personality: Amanda isn't funny or particularly nice or interesting. She's pleasant enough I guess but she isn't a sweetheart and she is always feeling sorry for herself. I do think that doing China and Micronesia back-to-back might have had some kind of harrowing emotional affect on her, but if she DOES come back for S20 she needs to skip that second bikini and pack a personality.


On Amanda's gameplay: Amanda has the kind of low-key and non-confrontational nature that lends itself to this game and she's also pretty athletic and a good liar. She is also a big believer in sucking up to the resident alpha male. In other words, she's perfect for the game, and these qualities make her a good player regardless of whether or not people want to like it. Part of the reason I'm so against her being on another season is because I KNOW she will go far. I'm that confident in her ability.


On Amanda's placement: A lot of people mistakenly believe I'm a big Amanda fan because I like other women that are unfairly lumped into the "didn't deserve a second shot" bullshit, and I was a mild Amanda fan in China. Then during Micro she was my least favorite part of my favorite alliance ever, but Amanda herself has never appealed to me beyond being aligned with people I like. I think she's boring and I hate the way she played Micro to lose to Ozzy and James. She did have some killer moments in her two seasons (idoling Alexis, blindsiding James, TWO disastrous crashes and burns at ftc, showmance with Ozzy, bffmance with Parv) and that's why she's this high.
