^ 82. SUSIE SMITH ^
Susie is another Cassandra, in that she's a nice woman who contributed little to a season I didn't care about to begin with, and also that she was sort of a rawbed finalist. During ftc and after, when the votes were read, I was STUNNED to see Susie receive so many votes and almost win given the way she was brutally neglected by the editors. And then to hear Jeff Probst tell Susie to her face that he doesn't know how he could justify her win like wtf? How do you justify a BOB win? At least Susie fucking did something and overcame the odds of being an older woman and in the minority of her tribes. Wtfever. Most people will remember Susie not by how rawbed she was, but for her epic overturn of my beloved Marcus and the other Onions after one of the lamest and most contrived twists ever. Despite that bullshittery, I have mildly positive feelings about Susie since she posts here (or did at one time) and is a super sweet lady that I would've liked to see win over the other two finalists. It's too bad that her season was shit and she was a virtual nobody.
On Susie's personality: Susie was too nice! Way too nice. Other than the general misogyny that goes on when the editors are creating people's storylines, I think Susie's bland congeniality was probably the leading factor behind her INV-UTR edit. She also doesn't know her audience, as she told an extremely bitter jury repeatedly that she did it for her son and she just kept trying because that's what she tells him, etc, and it's like "...who the fuck cares?" Not those people that's for sure. And not me either lol.
On Susie's gameplay: I'm one of the few that think Susie did really well with what she had. Someone like Susie could easily be the first person voted off, but she wasn't. She had a good personality and got along with almost everyone, which got her included in a tight foursome at Fang which was ripped apart by a twist. She stayed in good with most of those people until the end of the game, where she had to win immunity because of some fucked up "deserving" mentality that Sugar and the guys had. Anyway, she did, so screw you guys.
On Susie's placement: I think it's been pretty clear that I hated Gabon, and Susie wasn't even that big of a character. She's nice and she's sort of a Suckster, but this is the farthest those two things can take her on my list sry2say.
