-98. Denise Martin-
Denise hate is so pedestrian and boring that I almost considered putting her higher just to be unique, but then I thought "...no." The truth about me and Denise is that I don't hate her for all the reasons other people hate her, I hate her because I feel sorry for her. She's so pathetic that it makes me sad. It's uncomfortable to think about her presence on Survivor, and that's not fun at all. It's like when you're out with your friends having a blast and you see a homeless person. Big downer. Her contribution to the show was pretty minuscule. I believe she was a sympathetic figure editing-wise, until she had to refund that 50k because she's such a lying fugbeast. lol.
On Denise's personality: Denise is one of those people that just needs sympathy 24/7, possibly because
that's the only positive, affectionate attention she receives. I remember her crying about a lot of things: her job, her station in life, her desire to
be accepted and included...she was just a big downer. Maybe she laughed at some point and someone will point that out to me.
On Denise's gameplay: I don't care what anyone says, UTR is a solid and respectable strategy. Even in the form of someone not-so-solid and not-so-respectable, UTR is perfectly legitimate. At the time people in the game seemed to be sure that if Denise had gone to the finals she would have won based on having a family and all that, but I personally believe that contestants overestimate the jury's interest in rewarding a family man or woman.
On Denise's placement: There's really no reason for her to be higher, and the amount of pain she put me through by being so awkwardly pathetic is reason enough for her to be this low. Bleh. I'm just relieved she's not being considered for S20 (at this point).
