Thanks alot.

But past votes as #1? Gotta disagree there. Personally I like Purple Rock of Death because it discourages ties. Ties are such a wuss-out thing to do and they're not dramatically interesting. The fact that people were bargaining with "past votes" in Africa showed that a new tiebreaker was needed.
Let's talk about how complicated the past votes twist made the game in terms of strategy.

-Tina, Colby, and Keith create the first power shift by knocking out Bitchell.
-Rodger gets Debb and Kimmi to vote for Varner instead of him.
-Tina gives up immunity to Keith at the merge IC.
-Colby acts like a douche to make sure Ogakor wins the tiebreaker.
-Big Tom sends his warning votes for Clarence.
-Silas asks the elders to send their votes to Lindsey, and they tell him to "Fuck off" in the best form possible.
-The whiney bitch, Lindsey, ends up leaving in the tiebreaker.
-Teresa sticks to her word with Clarence and causes the biggest (and most hilarious) paranoid freakout of all time.

All of this happened in just two seasons, think about how much more drama and paranoia it could cause if it was still in the game. The past votes twist keeps everyone on their toes at all times, and much more possibilities and strategy would happen, rather than "How do we blindside the person with the HII?"
