I still don't get what people think was so great about China. I'm probably one of the few people who would ever argue that a season suffered from a lack of twists. I was hoping they would do more to shake up the status quo since nobody seemed interested in doing it on their own. Todd and Amanda hardly had to do anything to stay in control the whole time. Their tribemates were too mindlessly focused on keeping their original group together to make a power shift possible, and people like Peih-Gee had no chance just because they were stuck on a shitty tribe. By the fifteenth season, you'd think the winner should have to overcome a little more adversity than Todd did, where he basically proved that you can still win Survivor by forming an alliance with three people from your original tribe and riding it the whole way, like Richard and Ethan did. I always thought it was overrated, but third best season of all time? I had no idea I was that out of touch with the conventional wisdom here.
I don't appreciate China as much as others, either. I would never argue for a twist though. I'd like the players to shake up the game, not production. Not ever production.

I mean in Gabon, Ken got his ass handed to him. I'm one of the biggest Ken supporters on the board, and I can even admit that. But just because he lost doesn't make it a bad season. I was ticked off when Jenna won Amazon, yet it's still my favorite. Oh yeah, other seasons where the editors told you who to like...Micronesia (Cirie and Parv), Palau (Steph, Tom, and Ian), Cook Islands (Aitu 4), and Fiji (Yau and Earl). Notice the trend? 19+ people in all of them. Craig, Thank you for helping me understand why those are my four least favorite seasons.
The editors do that every season.
