I just think it comes down to numbers. I'm sure Archuleta's fans are hardcore and quite possibly have bought multiple copies of his album, but Cook won AI by 12 million votes, I think it stands to reason that he just has a larger fanbase. Plus it's all about demographics, I'm quite sure Archie's fanbase consists of more of the age groups who are going to be requesting a song a billion times at their local station.
