The Times of Harvey Milk is available for free on hulu.com.

Thanks, EndofAlice - I was going to drop $25 at Amazon.

It's amazing how much of the footage in Milk came directly from this documentary. It's an excellent companion piece, and I'm a little ashamed that I hadn't seen it already. Sadly, I can still remember a day when I was too afraid to rent this from my local video store for fear that people would think I was gay. I could have used a little of Harvey's strength and courage back then, and I hope anybody today who sees either of these films can carry away the message of hope, and not the fact Milk was gunned down in cold blood. Though I have to admit, my lizard brain fears for another history-making politician who has broken barriers and ascended to office on a message of hope.
