What the hell, I'll play.

Borneo: Tagi
Maybe it's just because I'm a cranky old fart, but I found the older, more abrasive personalities on Tagi far more relatable than the younger folks on Pagong, who always just seemed to be trying to have a bikini party out there.

Outback: Ogakor
We saw more of their strategy, which made them more interesting to me. Also, Kucha had Elisabeth and Rodger, who made my teeth hurt.

Africa: Boran
Samburu was hateful and annoying, and Teresa was the only one of the lot of them that I could stand (although I warmed considerably to Frank post-merge). Boran, on the other hand, had Lex and Ethan, both of whom I kinda had the hots for at the time. (Yeah, I know, I know.)

Marquesas: Rotu/nuRotu
I couldn't stand any of the "lovable underdogs." I preferred the Rotu 4, and was rooting hard for Tammy.

Thailand: Chuay Gahn
They were more interesting than the annoying Sook Jai kids, and their camp was infinitely cooler.

Amazon: Jaburu/nuTambaqui
Great season, hateable cast. I was rooting for the women at first only out of a vague sense of gender solidarity. After the swap, I rooted for Tambaqui, because at least they weren't playing annoying dating games.

Pearl Islands: Drake
The freaks and geeks on Drake were much more fun.

All-Stars: Mogo Mogo
The most appealing personalities were all here, especially after the dissolution of Saboga, when they got Jerri.

Vanuatu: Yasur
Both tribes were unlikeable, but Lopevi was also incredibly dull. Yasur was at least entertaining to watch, in an "OMG these people are awful!" kind of way.

Palau: Koror
I wanted to root for the poor hapless Ulong tribe! I really did! But I just couldn't manage it, because they bored me half to death. (Of course, Koror turned out to be just as boring, if not more so. But I didn't realize that until after the non-merge.)

Guatemala: nuYaxha
I loved this tribe. Pre-swap, I don't remember having any strong tribal preference.

Exile Island: Casaya
Freaks and geeks trump all-American blandness...

Cook Islands: nuAitutaki
...but bland likeability still trumps bland hatefulness.

Fiji: Ravu/nuMoto
The editors wanted me to root this way, and much as I might have resented it, I did their bidding anyway.

China: Zhan Hu
I loved Courtney, but otherwise found Zhan Hu's dysfunction far more interesting than Fei Long's boring competence.

Micronesia: Airai
The favorites were more fun to watch. Post-swap, I enjoyed both tribes.

Gabon: Fang/nuFang
The Onion Alliance has got to be my least favorite Survivor Alliance ever, but I found Ace and Sugar highly entertaining. When they were switched to Fang, my allegiance was set in stone.

Wow. Looking it over, it seems that, with a few notable exceptions, I usually root pretty much the way I suspect the editors want me to. What a tool I am.
