I saw the movie Australia today. I was not expecting it to be a tear jerker (but it was). According to most reviews I read I was expecting a long mediocre
movie that hits and misses. Now after I have watched it, I can say it is a gay movie. It pays tribute to a gay movie icon and has Hugh Jackman in it.
The best part of the movie for me was during the cattle drive there appears to be one cow running on two legs. If you blink you miss it, but we saw it. The camera is horn level with the cows, and they are being run through the outback, and in the background close to the right side of the screen, there appears to be one cow RUNNING upright. It reminded me of one of the old Far Side cartoons. In actuality it was really just a bull humping a cow with other cows running past it, but it was funny that it made it past the film edits.
Overall the reviews were right, it is a hit and miss movie. But it was fun to take in an afternoon movie and lunch on a weekday and get lost in the outback.
