I firmly believe they have invented an esophageal microphone which is implanted in Andrew's throat to capture every subtle nuance of the gulping, chomping,
chewing, swallowing sounds. The audio track is more nauseating than most of the food items he consumes. It's quite unnecessary.
Still, the show is well-done and interesting, focusing not only on the food but local culture and vibrant personalities.
Last week my DVR caught "Bizarre Worlds With Andrew Zimmern," in which he toured Turkey and the focus was not on food. I'd like to see more of this.
I know he's "married," but he's a raging homo. It's HIS dream-job, too: he gets to travel the world for months on end WITHOUT his wife, eat and get fatter, and pay for Indonesian male prostitutes using a Travel Channel expense account.
