Funny how Marcus is trying to convince himself that Charlie is only doing it for strategy. *lol*

No surprise there. Marcus is the only one she "thinks" will do well. The others were just "hoping." Even she knows that he's in it for the long haul - great instincts, Paloma. <3
Marcus' comments about Charlie did seem to be convincing himself. He focused so much on Charlie being attracted to him, and on his own attraction to Charlie (justified in the old "I'm not gay that way" manner), he didn't seem to pick up on just how much of Charlie's feelings towards him are hero worship, and wanting to be liked by the confident, popular alpha male. I think that has a lot to do with Marcus' appeal on the show, insecure people see him as a blank canvas.
