Emilio, Wife Injured In Traffic Collision
Tejano singer Emilio Navaira and his wife were injured in a traffic crash on Wednesday evening. A family member told KSAT 12 News that Navaira's wife, Maria, was driving at the time of the crash.
Navaira's manager said the singer and his wife were returning from a physical therapy session when the car they were riding in was struck about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Culebra and Potranco roads on the city's far northwest side. They were both taken to University Hospital and the two are in stable condition, a hospital spokesperson said.
The family member said the singer was not seriously injured and was being kept in the hospital for overnight observation.
The singer recently returned to San Antonio when the hospital he was staying at was evacuated due to Hurricane Ike.
