i don't know about y'all, but i love sittin' down on thursday nights with my sons jaime and bobby and watchin' survivor. i thought last season was real good. we'd rush home from the studio to sit down and eat our yummy survivor themed treats together. we cheered and cheered when parvati won because she tried real hard to win. she reminded me of my grandma juanita. what a strong woman. we used her recipe for our survivor treats, and i thought i'd share it with y'all.

grandma juanita's survivor scallops

you will need:

- 36 scallops
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (tempura batter is also acceptable y'all!)
- 2 tbsp chives (chopped)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp of old bay seasoning
- 1 quart melted butter
- 8 eggs
- 1 cup pixie stick sugar

1. use the eggs to wash the scallops
2. mix the salt and breadcrums together in a small bowl y'all
3. drop the scallops into 4 eggs
4. get 'em good and wet, then drop them into the breadcrumb bowl
5. in a deep fryin' pan, have all but half of cup of your butter simmering under the stove
6. drop the scallops into the fryin' pan
7. cook until golden brown, then take them out of the fryin' pan
8. sprinkle the chives on the finished fried scallops
9. now take the cup of pixie stick sugar (any flavor will do) and pour all over the top of the scallops
10. dip each scallop into the leftover butter
11. season to taste and have fun watchin' your tv shows y'all!
