Backdoor only applies if you didn't get a chance to play for VETO. Blindside is much more satisfying as they never saw it coming. Also much more prevalent.

I'd even go a step further and say backdoor only applies if you were the real target, but weren't nominated in the first round in order to minimize your chance at playing for, and winning, POV. There are a lot of 'backdoors' that were people that weren't really the target initially, but someone had to go up after the veto was used, and they just happened to be people that didn't play POV.
You are absolutely correct. There can never ever be a true backdoor again since the advent of the random draw. A true backdoor is someone who is the original target who is prevented from playing in the POV by not being chosen. Since that can't ever happen with the random draw it is a way to Blindside someone after POV, but not Backdoor. Sorry to bump this, but this is a huge pet peeve of mine that people toss around that term incorrectly on the show.
