The ending of the second episode after Nicole and Paul's verbal fight ends with Nicole's warning to Paul -"I will beat you in this game."

Now that it wasn't just an event that has to be shown but where the whole show has been wrapped up with, it takes a second look. In the next episode, she tells us the stuff with Paul is "too bad, because I am here to stay."

In the premiere, Mark tells us he has to win it for his family.

Paul, Nicole and Mark are the ones with the longevity -not Craig.

The only thing that makes sense is they are decoying us with Mark and the sad angle.

If Nicole has to beat Paul then it either means he's the mole or the runner-up. If he's the Mole, then Mark would have to win with the sad sap angle. And it doesn't make sense rewatching the episodes that Paul or Nicole doesn't beat the other in a battle of outwitting. Paul's getting the mastermind edit, and Nicole's getting the jerk/"she's nuts"/abbrasive edit that is softening and ultimately misunderstood.

I still say it goes Craig is the obvious Mole and then surprisingly goes; Paul and Nicole try to one up one another in the finale with Mark desperately trying to win money and win the whole thing. In the finale after the questioning of the past contestants, they all say it's Nicole -Nicole is revealed as the winner and she opens the door revealing Mark is the Mole -Clay is shocked, Paul shakes Nicole's hand.
